She's done with 8th grade and i going into her 1st year in a different highschool where none of her friends are goingand she wants to know how she can make friends and have the 1st day go easier. (our mother doesn't want her to go to the highdchool in this town its really shity, we dont even get colledge credit). I told her I'd ask 4 her. What should she do at her new school. Don't give answers like "just go up 2 pple and introduce urself" thats not that easy. Be more spacific, she really don't wanna be randon and just talk 2 ramdon pple. She's really nervous about where she'll sit at lunch and who to sit ith in clsses. Thanx!

I would say, just be yourself, but be open to new ideas. Tryand get out there to meet new people, and maybe inquire abuot joining a club or group. Have confidence in yourself, because other people will be able to see that, and will believe it. Let people know who you are, and try and be as outgoing as possible.

Don't let her take English lessons from her sister. Tell her to relax; if she's not the most popular person in the world on the first day, it's not the worst thing in the world. Unless she's a truly heinous person she will make friends eventually, from her classes and any groups she joins (Drama, sports, yearbook / newspaper). Two of my best friends were in my math class first year and I didn't even get to know them until halfway through the semester.

Are you sure you won't be going there for some English? You could be her friend.
If she doesn't want to speak to random people, she's pretty well screwed, right off the bat. How else do you make friends? What would be wrong with smiling and saying hi? Or, are you thinking that she has to check someone's background and family history before she knows whether they're worth knowing or not?

Befriend the people around you in the classroom or the people whose lockers are nearby.
