I get so embarassed about how much I can eat. I'm not a big person (5ft 3in & 9 1/2 stone). I feel like such a pig when I eat, not with table manners or anything (although I do enjoy eating food with my fingers sometimes - things like chicken and ribs, not, like, baked beans or anything!) Example - last night I had 1/2 a chicken, baked potato, carrots, cabbage and corn on the cob. Would you be embarassed to be seen out with someone who had the appetite of a cougar? I don't think I have a problem or anything, but I do feel bad when I see other women tucking into just a salad!

She wasn't saying it maliciously...but how can this be taken as anything positive? No mean answers please.
Thanks

I'm going to a baby shower Saturday and I just found out that I'll be sitting next to a woman who is KNOWN to have bad breath ... horrible breath in fact! And I cant change my seat because I'm the only one she knows (besides the mom-to-be) and she asked to sit next to me.

What the hell do I do? I mean, her breath is unbearbale. It will make you gag!

I have a 'ticklish: neighbours problem. My neighbour is a longtime bulaemic. She has not spoken to me about this but our homes are very close, especially her bathroom and our back yard and several times a day I hear the her vomiting. This has been going on for years. We have been neighbours for nearly twenty years and although friendly enough I am definitely not close enough to her to raise this issue. She is not a young girl, probably late 30's. There are times when the sounds from her bathroom,/toilet nearly make me sick and certainly make me feel queasy . I have to try and avoid being out in my yard or on my patio at various times, generally around mealtimes or an hour or two afterwards, but the lady is a shiftworker so this can also happen at odd times through the day. I am also concerned because I have a young and impressionable teenage girl who can't help but hear all this and is starting to query it. Please. I AM sorry for my neighbour but I CAN'T broach the subject. Any ideas?

Lincoln shoe polish only comes in the 2oz cans. Before I can use even a decent amount, it cracks up and becomes pretty much useless. Any ideas how to keep it from cracking? I have tried keeping water in it but it seems to only make the top rust.

tomorrow there is a team tennis torunament and only six players can play. One of the players is ranked higher than me in the section, but I beat him twice (6-0,a week ago, then 6-3 four days ago). I even beat the kids he lost to(but that shouldn't matter). The coach says that since the kid(9th grade) is ranked higherand "grinds till the end", he gets to play instead of me. This doesn't seem fair, but are far as the ranking is concerned, I can see where the coach is coming from. However, he isn't applying this rule to everyone. One of the players is not ranked at all, but he gets to play because he is better than most of the kids. That is understandable considering that he won the state doubles championship. But in my situation, the coach is using the ranking rule against me even though I have clearly proven that I should play. I always treat the coach and my teammates with respect and I never had problems before.

I am graduating from college, and I need some ideas as to what to do immediately following the ceremony. I know that dinner should be involved, but I have a big family. Is it cheesy to ask people to pay their own way after the dinner?

Some backstory: I'm a 20 year old college student and I go to Barnes and Noble's about 3 times a week to study. I never had a problem until tonight.

I usually bring in a cup of covenience store french vanilla cappuccino, for three reasons,
1. It's cooled down and actually DRINKABLE when I start studying.
2. It's cheap. I'm poor.
3. It tastes good. IMO starbucks coffee does not.

However I will concede that if a manager asked me to stop, I sure would and I would understand too.

The night in question I droped my books off at a table and went and bought a cd from their cd area. I then grabed a test prep book and started studying. About 45 minutes later a young, unhappy woman comes up, stares at me and says "This is not a library" and "Study at Caseys' (convience store) if you want to study.". I was totally shocked by this, I had always thought barnes and noble was an study haven for college students. I was kind of thrown off, so I grabed my stuff, and bought the test prep book

I'm 220 lbs. There are only a few treadmills at my gym that are big enough to handle me running on them, and plenty of smaller ones that start to pour out smoke and smell like burning rubber if I get on them.
Sometimes all the sturdiest machines are occupied by little tiny people whom the smaller machines could easily handle, and I am left waiting while there are still plenty of machines free.
Would it be rude of I suggested to one of these more slightly built people that they could change machines for my benefit?

Ok, we say we're all here because, uh gee, I'm bored. But we're not really bored, are we? At least, really I'm just lazy. I've got plenty of things to do here, but it's easier to just sit here and answer and ask and look than it is to mop the kitchen floor. Who will stand up and admit that they are lazy with me?
Let's start a lazy march. Surely it will stir someone up.. We should demand our rights as lazy ppl, there must be a syndrome we can drum up somewhere. Ok. now I'm getting carried away. Are you bored or lazy? Be honest.

Is that a politically incorrect term, such as calling a black person black vs African American. Should we say Hearing Impaired instead of deaf?

I don't mean what we hearing people would think among ourselves, I mean what would a deaf person actually think about this?

Quite often people (mostly strangers) just come out asking me how much I make per hour at my work. Is that rude or no? I think it is. Am I alone in thinking this is rude? Maybe it's just where I live the culture is very different? The answer I give is: "I make enough".

I found it odd that this person not only eats the entire entree before eating each side dish, but the different foods on the plate also cannot touch each other. Is there any ettiquette to suggest if this is rude, or simply just an odd way to eat?
