Well society for the large part is based on religion, at least thats how it started. Religion was formed by man as a way to make us a humans less barbaric and civilized. In the days of the cave man, if you liked a chick you could just knock her over the head with your mallet and drag her into your cave. Today thanks to religion we have rules that govern society. So the meaning I guess it to be stand up citizens and try to do the right thing. If everyone did the right thing, then it would be perfect. But that doesn't happen.
