It's not to do with if they are lying or not. I guess it is just human nature to take an interest in something that you yourself can't picture (literally).
There are different forms of colour blindness too so that is another reason to ask. I know poor colour blind people must get sick of us doing it though! Although I only ask close friends who are colour blind (only know one actually).

The reason is because some people are only partially color blind. Depending on the individual, some may see different shades of a color rather than no color at all; or even very different looking colors. This is still considered color blindness.
On the other hand, we are always suspicious of "fake" color blind people! Hahaha.

Why would somebody say they were color blind if they were not? I dont think people are lying about it, as a matter of fact most people dont like to admit that their color blind because of all the questions it leads up to. I have been color blind my whole life, and I have 20/20 vision, and can see just as good or better than most people.

I know it is rude but my ex-boyfriend was color blind (blue green color blind) and had difficulty seeing blu and green. I asked him a few times what color things were just because it was hard to imagine how he sees colors. Once he explained that he sees different shades of gray instead of different shades of blue and green I stopped asking questions. It is like black and white pictures.

no............., well atleast I dont! When people say they are color blind alot of the times they dont see in black and white . They cant see green and some other colors.
But as a cruel joke it would be fun.
