I've asked 3 of my college professors to write letters of recommendations for me for scholarship applications. I feel like I should write a thank you note or something, but I"ve never done this before. What's the standard procedure for such a thing?

I hate to say it, but I'm a telemarketer. Can I get a better job? yes. Is it feasible right now? no. I'm a full time student and this job allows me to make a decent pay, works with my school schedule, I can study while I work, and my boss is really lenient with me.
But WHY does everyone think it's always the TELEMARKETER that's rude? I hate to say this, but some of my customers that I call are REALLY REALLY rude too! I'm just doing a job. Why can't they just say "take me off your list" or better yet..just not answer the phone!? I don't know you're eating dinner, changing a diaper, sleeping, having sex, or putting your kids to bed when I call. Do I LOOK like a mindreader?
Why can't people just simply say "take me off your list" instead of cursing, screaming at us, using profanity, blowing whisles into the phone, pushing the phone buttons, or even so much as blowing a bullhorn into the phone. This is just rude and infantile.

I hate them! Especially on public transport. Why do people shout in them, people talk utter rubbish on them 'I'm on the bus now' or they swear a lot or talk about their sex lives for all to hear. Five different ring tones at once is ANNOYING. I have one but mine is on vibrate on public transport as I am very conscious of not causing noise pollution to others - have some manners and consideration people! I feel better now I've had a rant.

I currently work a sales job for a fundraising company that does alot of work with local church groups. While I focus much of the discussion on the fundraising programs, alot of the times someone within the church organization will ask what congregation I currently attend. My husband and I are Atheist, which of course is an answer that never seems to go over well. While a sale is supposed to be about the service I offer, whenever this question comes up, the focus is suddenly about me as a person. I have yet to find a tactful way to reply to such a question. I have stated that we do not currently have a congregation, or that we do not currently attend church, etc. I am finding that this is actually starting to hurt my sales, since a few people have stated that they are not comfortable working with someone who does not believe in God. How can I tactfully answer such a question without hurting my sales, offending anyone, or having to out and out lie?

My wife is a nontraditional surrogate for a Japanese Couple. They purchased her a Kimono in the beggining of the surrogacy. I want this to be a suprise so I dont want to ask them directly. I am an aspiring photographer I took pictures of my wife in the Kimono 28 weeks of the pregnancy. Would it be offensive culturally if she is standing to the side with the kimono pulled aside revealing only the belly? Thanks for your input guys.

My aunt just sent me a forward of 9 safety tips for women that upon a quick search on Snopes.com, are complete and total crap. This forward contains complete lies and poor advice for dangerous situations. I really want to email my aunt and everyone she forwarded this to and tell them to ALWAYS check something out on Snopes before forwarding it around. Is there a polite way to do this? What should I say?

Or should I ask her mom if there is anything she really
would like right now? Her graduation isn't until May
but I would like to be ready to give the gift a little
early because my kids go to school until that day
and we will not be able to attend her graduation (she
lives in tx and we live in nc).

Ive been a freecycler for over a month now & everything half decent was always gone even imm after it was posted. Yest i posted a few really good things as i had no use for it. The Wireless keyboard i posted i noticed i had an offer even b4 the post became visible? It wasn't until i had an email from Admin asking for another of my posts be edited i noticed the exact same email address! This obviously has really annoyed me as now it seems to me its not a fair site! Whats the point of posting if Admin get all the best stuff while they are going through the posts to see if they are acceptable to be posted, when they are also checking for the things they want to keep for themselves! It seems to me if you are going to use freecycle you should not post offers, and only respond to wanted ads with your things or bring them to charity shops so the people who really need the stuff get them and dont make the fat cats fatter! I am really peed of,has anybody else noticed this or is it just my group

If someone at work, drinks with you and a big group outside the office and asks you to sit on his lap (while he's drunk) is that sexual harassment?

Night after night this goes on, and to be quite honest its driving me mad. Like most folks I like to get a good sleep at night but the sound of their bed rattling away all the time is stopping my well deserved rest.

I wouldn't mind too much but it's real noisy stuff, and I'm not sure one of the pair wants to submit to the other ones attentions. But 'Bubba' is quite a big guy.

I hope to be released on parole in 2009, but in the meantime any advice would be great.

Thanks
