Also how do you not let what they say get to you. I am learning to develop a thicker skin. Is it experance that helps develop a thick skin? I really don't care what they think I just want to know how to find common ground? Any advice?

Be civil, you don't have to be over-the-top nice but just treat them with respect and stay out of their way. Avoid them as much as possible (without it getting in the way of your job) and don't let things escalate. What I mean by that is, if they say something to you just let it roll off your back and try not to get into an argument with them as this will only make it more difficult to work with them. There's going to be one in every job and some are more annoying than others but it's best to just do your work and ignore them.

Don't ever tell them anything about your private life. Just go to work and do your job and only talk shop and just be yourself. People who like to make your life miserable at work trust me have no wonderful life away from work. They need to freaking grow up. I would not even want to have a common ground with them. I'd just be nice.

Try to let it all go, and just be nice. Smile and go on with things, work sucks at times, and people are getting more and more rude. Don't fall into the rudness, just be happy and nice all the time, people will enjoy your company and will stop getting under your skin.

I try to avoid someone when I know they don't like me. Why antagonize the situation? I will cooperate and work with them when the need arizes, but I will avoid them at all other times. I have noticed that the ones who form cliches and talk smack about me generally are the ones with the lowest self-esteem. Knowing this helps me to keep my cool and have compassion for them, but it's still hard, and intimidating, to know a group has a low opinion of you.

My advice is to avoid them whenever possible. I don't want to sound mean. It's just that I have noticed that whenever I try to "make nice" with these people, it only seems to add fuel to the fire. I found it didn't matter if I ignored them or tried to politely address it. If you must interact with them, try to have a third party as a witness. They'll be more likely to behave themselves, and you'll have someone to back you up if they act up.

I've learned to bite my tounge, get my work done and avoid the person at all costs. I also started believing in karma and that one day they will get what is deserved to them for making my life hell.

If that doesn't work try getting the whole office to turn on that person as well. It really works.

Is there a reason why they don't like you?

All I can say is, work hard because when that day comes and you get the promotion that they want, you can advise them on their bad behavior and how it affected their work.

Like all bullies, they will back off when confronted. Next time someone says something to you that you don't like, just get in their face and tell them you don't want to hear it. Like shut up. Bullies are really chickens.

don't let them get under your skin, when they are talking about you just walk by them and just smile like you don't give a damn, but make it a funny smile and they'll wonder what you're up to then.

I do not get along with other people in the office.

Just yell at everyone like I do.
