I live in Anchorage, Alaska and, though we could really use it, there is not much valet parking here. The only places are the two hospitals because parking is so limited there. I never get to see where they park my car, so I don't know if it is parked crooked or not.

That said: chewed gum on the dollars is hilarious. I would have never thought of that.

I'm too poor to go anywhere that actually provides valet, but if I were a valet driver, I'd probably leave a nice little surprise in your car for you when I dropped it off. Hope this helps!

I can't see why parking it crooked matters, since you are about to get in and drive away. No on the chewed gum ... wouldn't want the karma!

Gross! Let me give you a bit of advice that my mother gave to me… Never be mean spirited toward anyone because you never know when and how you may encounter them in the future. They could one day be in a position to affect your life. If you have an issue with someone talk to them about it. Only cowards avoid confronting situations with poise and dignity. So next time he parks your car crooked ask him/her to please be more ginger with your personal belongings. If he/she cops an attitude just walk away knowing you are the better person and that's all there is to it.

No, when the valet driver brings your car you are expected to drive it away. It really doesn't matter how it is parked, which is usually at the curb, since you are just going to drive away.

Being a cheapskate - or disgusting - based on this would be rude.

And who do you think you are? So the guy didn't park your car EXACTLY as you wanted? Big deal!
Did you forget that the people in this world who have to do the shitty jobs are people too? Treat others as you would like to be treated and get off your high and mighty horse!

What does it matter if its crooked,. You are going to drive it off anyway and its probably aiming in the right direction. The gum thing, that ridiculous.

No, that would be bratty. If you are not happy with his service, give him a smaller tip or no tip at all. If the crookedness bothers you that much, you could let him know that is why the tip wasn't that large.
