Starting college was something new to me and when people told me that college was a piece of cake, I seriously believed them-call me naive. Any who I am doing ROTC and I didn't do so hot this fisrt quarter so I took time off to get my act together, try to learn from what I am doing wrong and learn from it, find something that works for me. I was doing good in the beginning of the quarter, and still am in a couple classes, but yet I am not going to the full capacity I knew I could go to, or at least try to be at-because sometimes at the end of the day I feel so useless. Basically a paper was do Thrus. and this chick told me it was due Mon. And I came to class Thrus. unprepared, and it was due. So I spent the weekend working on my paper and my teacher said I would start at 70% percent and go from there. I turned in the paper but forgot the rubric. He basically said I need to get it together and he is right. Any techiques or word of advice on learning to be a better student?

When I am speaking with a friend, there is about 3 people that are doing this, but not at the same time. One will come up and say hello to the person I am speaking with and totally ignore me and try to carry on a conversation with the person I was speaking with. Should I say something to this person(s), say nothing, or just keep extending my hand to them and shaking it which is what I pretty much have been doing since I don't want to stoop to their levels. I have no idea why they are doing it but they do it.

Ok, sorry to have a winge... But, when you are in a food court and people are too lazy to take their rubbish to the bins when they have finished eating and just leave it on the table for someone to clean up.... Grrrrrr!!

Time to confess, what really bugs you??

When you are looking for a parking spot, like at a mall, what kind of parker are you?

1. Search and Destroyer -slowly prowl the parking lot until you find the closets spot.

2. Lay and wait -position themselves at the end of an aisle and wait for a space to open up in what they start to believe is their territory.

3. Stalkers - the most predatory, slowly follow shoppers leaving the store back to their parking spot.

4. See it and Take it - take first spot available, usually furthest away from building.

I'm a See It & Take It, mostly because no body is waiting for you to back out.

What type are you?

Do people realise that complimenting someone will make them feel a lot better than insulting someone.

Not only does it make you feel good, but it can brighten their day too. Or shoot them down and make them feel bad if they have just insulted you.

Take the higher ground. It always feels better!!!

We just got new neighbor across the street and my family was really excited because we figgured anything would be better than the old ones. but we were wrong.

im a teenager and when i was that some young people were moving in I was pretty excited but for the two days they have lived there, every night their band practices. The drummer, bass, and guitar players are not bad, but their amps are up too loud and their singer is horrible!!

It is loud and annoying and I can imagine that this will happen every night

What do I do?

Why do people give stupid answers to questions? I mean, if you think it's a dumb question, why not skip over it? I just don't get it.
Wouldn't you want someone to help you with your question?

Also, READ what the person is actually asking. It may not be a "dumb question" after all.

A series of pre-teen girls came into my work today, wishing to return a DVD. Two of my co-workers were behind the counter. The girls brought it up to the first person, we shall call her Sari. Sari has been working at the store for two weeks. She informed the girls that she would not be able to give them money, that she had to give them a gift card instead, as is store policy. She took the DVD from them and noticed that it was wrapped strangely, but assumed that it had been rewrapped in the store. It had one of our store's stickers on it. Sari scanned the barcode, but it didn't work. She tried about five times, before announcing to her co-worker, Kris, who has been there for two months, that "it was being retarded again", as she had already had trouble with the till freezing earlier in the day. Sari ran off to go finish doing inventory, and Kris tried to scan the DVD, only to have it not work again. He decided that he would just manually type in the amount and print them off a gift card

I paid $20 for a personal website. After finding someone I liked, I emailed them. The person emailed me back but instead of asking about me, she asked me to email someone else on the personal website because she didn't want to pay and asked me if I could email them for their email address. What do you think of someone like this? I stopped corresponding with her by the way.

A friend of mine recommended me to her manager for this training and recruiting. However, training and recruiting in her job deals with selecting people that will be able to sell products and teaching them how present these products to customers. There was some miscommunication because I was talking about HR training and recruiting where you give new employees an orientation of the office, suggest applicants to be interviewed based on their resume and stuff like that. So how do I tell her that it was the wrong training and recruiting without sounding like Im ungrateful for help?

I have a friend who most of us would agree has more money than the average person....he meets celebrities...vacations in Jamaica...has his own car....lives in a 5-bedroom home...no student loans because his parents can afford the $21,000 tuition out of their own pockets....

But I hate when he complains about his life.....his car breaking down...his cell phone not working (he got the latest Sprint phone MONTHS before everyone else)....his flat-screen computer not being fast enough....he doesn't realize how good he has it....it's kind of like watching an episode of Laguna Beach everyday when I hang out with him...I really wish he'd stop complaining about his vacations and the celebs he meets....what should I do???
