Starting college was something new to me and when people told me that college was a piece of cake, I seriously believed them-call me naive. Any who I am doing ROTC and I didn't do so hot this fisrt quarter so I took time off to get my act together, try to learn from what I am doing wrong and learn from it, find something that works for me. I was doing good in the beginning of the quarter, and still am in a couple classes, but yet I am not going to the full capacity I knew I could go to, or at least try to be at-because sometimes at the end of the day I feel so useless. Basically a paper was do Thrus. and this chick told me it was due Mon. And I came to class Thrus. unprepared, and it was due. So I spent the weekend working on my paper and my teacher said I would start at 70% percent and go from there. I turned in the paper but forgot the rubric. He basically said I need to get it together and he is right. Any techiques or word of advice on learning to be a better student?

am trying to move forward, yet I feel like I haven't taken any strides to do so, and if I have, the change hasn't been much.

Hey, today begins anew. Starting right.....NOW you
1. start all work immediately, as opposed to closer to the due date.
2. Finish all assignments 1 day early minimum. If it is a big assignment, get it done as early as 5 days before.
3..For long term assignments, commit a few hours TWICE a week as soon as the are assigned. Once a week is to little.
4. Drop a class! Take the minimum requirements for full time until you feel in-control.

Seriously, this is the key. So when you go out all night or stay in bed the whole weekend or make a human mistake, it affects work that isn't due right now, but in a while. Always do to early. Then you can't go wrong and NO MORE ANXIETY.

I feel the same way sometimes and then I feel guilty because I'm not getting the best grades. It's hard to feel motivated at times, but there's no magic solution here. If you're concerned and you want to do better you have to make yourself do it. The fact that this seems to be bothering you, should be your motivation. You'll feel better once you get back on track. Is there something that's distracting you from school? I often find when I'm dating someone or just going out and partying too much is when school is the last thing on my mind.

If you can, work ahead. When you finish something early, it makes you feel good. Plus you'll have some free time and you'll always have your stuff done on time.

sounds like to me you are really not that interested in what you are studying, maybe you should think about something else. you are the only one that can make you study no one else can.
