Why do people give stupid answers to questions? I mean, if you think it's a dumb question, why not skip over it? I just don't get it.
Wouldn't you want someone to help you with your question?

Also, READ what the person is actually asking. It may not be a "dumb question" after all.

yep, its all about points. For example, I know your question is dumb, because how do you not notice the points? However, it is an easy one to answer so I am doing it. Another fun thing, if you dont select the best answer, we get to vote. Sometimes people forget to go back and vote. If they do, one vote is all it takes. BOOM 10 points.

Well.... I could say the same thing about asking fake/stupid/unhelpful/useless questions like yours. Sure you understand you live in a democracy? This means you cannot imprison someone for a stupid answer any more than for a correct answer. Beside they can be fun sometimes if you lighten up a little.

Have a sense of humor about it. If you're asking a serious question, then odds are you'll get a handful of serious answers, and a few not-so-serious ones. Does it really hurt you to have a few wise-cracks mixed in with the good answers? probably not. Just ignore them, or better yet, give them the thumbs down so you don't have to see them anymore. Don't let it get to you.

unfortunately that's what some folks are out here doing, and I have noticed a lot of people don't read the rest of the question, just the subject line which is sad.

Try to hang in there and find the people who are on here for the right reasons

I wish you luck and happy yahoo questions and answers
there is something to be gained from the real folks.

It's all about the points. See, I just provided the same answer as the first several people. Why? Because I'm almost at level 4.

Ok, what about stupid, useless questions? This seems more of a topic for a message board than a real question. If you don't really need help with your question, then don't ask.

Good question. I find it mostly annoying when people write stupid answers, unless it's very funny. Sometimes the question merits it. Otherwise, people waste entirely too much time and energy with their dumb answers.

If everyone gave a wise answer, the world would be boring with all the wise people. Some do it unintentionally, some do it for points, some do it for fun, but they make the thing interesting.

I asked that some time ago... Truth is the real problem is the "point system" here... Many people would not answer were it not for the points... They should make another site called Y!RealAnswers....
