when you grew up, you found out totally different? Very funny because all my childhood, my foster mom used to tell me that cursing was not for children, & that it was for adults. She said that when I turned 18, I can curse. I'm 23 now, & she calls me childish & inappropriate for cursing, but she's been cursing at us for as long as I can remember-I was 4 & 5 years old & she was cursing me out. & in other places, people tell me that cursing is childish & inappropriate. I only curse when I'm mad, though. My question is, why isn't it inappropriate for others to curse? When my foster mom curses, why isn't it childish or inappropriate? My whole doggone childhood, I was taught wrong-that cursing is wrong for people of all ages, not just children. I just recently found out that cursing is considered a CRIME-disturbing the peace. That's messed up how you can go to jail for cursing when people do it all day, every day.

We did not have a wedding reception because we decided to get married a the courthouse and just have a few friends over. Now that a year is almost here, we decided that we want to celebrate our first anniversary with our family and friends with a semi-formal affair.

I didn't know that they were watching a movie. They kept yelling at me. I went and turned them off right away, but they kept yelling at me afterwards.

My boss keeps distracting me at work by blaring his totally uncool music while I am trying to work. You'd think that would degrade productivity enough as it is, but what's worse is this music comes from his iPod, and he isn't remotely close to being an audiophile (he's partially deaf) so all the songs he plays sound like they were recorded in a closet. On a side note, if anyone can point me in the direction of an invisible digital voice recorder so I can archive his "American Idol"-worthy solo performances, that would be great.

Some of my questions are taken out of context. They are meant to be of a fun nature and to receive a whacky answer. The above question is serious, however.

not to be rude. People at work want to know where my kids go to school, EXACTLY where I live (directions to my door), just everything. I'm a private person and don't want to share my personal life. I know they just want to get to know me but I want my privacy. How can I respond without being rude?

Because of her forgetting things, I am blamed for her forgetfulness. She'll tell me one thing, and the next thing she'll forget, and say that she never said that. And my boss does not tell her anything. So I am pretty much blamed for things. If I were to ask her if I can record our conversation while making any decisions, would that be rude of me? I'm just trying to look out for myself. Now, she is real nice, and a sweetheart. I don't have a problem w/ her, just her memory. She's very active, and all. Not like uses a cane, walker or anything. She looks like she's in her early 50s-but she's not!.

I can't understand why they despise each other, they are based close together, I would have thought they would be fairly friendly with each other?
Have been round my partners house, where they all support Tottenham. I support Arsenal, and was told I was not allowed to celebrate at all if Arsenal got a goal, or make a noise if there was a near miss etc. I thought they were joking! We were losing 2-0, and they cheered at their goals and were all happy etc. Then Arsenal got a goal and I cheered. I got some really filthy looks and a proper mouthing off later on. I really thought they were going to throw me out the door. I was told I was lucky not to get a beating, and they meant much of what they said to me, which was really offensive. To me, football is just a game and should be enjoyed, a bit of banter if half the fun of it. These people I've known for three years, I work day by day with two of them, and have been dating another for over two years. Is what I did so wrong? Finished 2-2

Lately, I have been noticing that women are not washing their hands after using the restroom. I live in a dorm and we have a community bathroom so see other girls in there all the time. It bothers me because the types of girls that are doing this are the ones that I would not expect. All of them that I have noticed have been attractive, caucasian (I'm sure they aren't the only race but they are the only one I have personally observed), dressed very well in expensive clothes, and they come out of the stall and leave. It bothers me because it makes me wonder if the high classed looking cook in a restaurant has washed her hands or my gorgeous friend that I high-five has a hand full of germs. PLEASE teach your girls to wash their hands, not just for other people's sake but for their own.

Okay, so tomarrow is the last day of one of my art classes, so we are having a party. Our teacher said that if we wanted to, we could bring treats, drinks, ect.

Anyway, I was talking to some of my classmates and I was asking them what they were bringing tomarrow. All the ones I talked to (almost all of them) said they were bringing nothing.

I plan on bringing a nice big bag of chips and maybe some cookies. The thing is, some of my classmates can be extremely cruel. They sometimes make fun of me for no reason and they were even spraying water at me today at the cleaning sink.

Anyway, I was thinking, should I share my treats with my evil classmates? I was thinking that if I didn't bring them, it would show them if you teach someone like crap you won't get anything in return. But I know that if I don't give them some, they will insult me even more!

What would be proper etiquette? I don't want to stoop to their level, but I don't want them to walk all over me!

I would like to use some of your responses/debates/ideas in my English paper for school. what are your opinoins.

Something I've already heard:
You should change the way you dress to look like everyone else. (this is one spoken to the people that wear black in my Sociology class.)

My Response:
Why must WE change how we look? Isn't that the same as us asking you to dress in black so you look like us? AND if dress adds to our individuality, why do you want to take it from us?

There is my protion. 3. 2. 1. DEBATE! Go! State Your Opinion. Please and thanks for helping me!

I just moved into a new house in a quiet suburb. My house is the newest (built in 1988). The neighbors on both sides of my have been there longer than my house has. When I first moved in I had some friends help me move. We were out back on my deck at approx. 7pm. We were talking but definantly not loudly. The older lady in the house to the right of mine looked out and then went away. The next day she came over and lectured me on not being loud past 6pm. I decided to build a fence in my back yard because I have a dog. The neighbor on the left of my house actually complained to the contractor that when my house was built (in 1988) that they took half her property to build it and so I should be grateful and not put a fence in. I think she just wants to be able to see everything going on. Myself and my fiance are young 22. It is obvious that my neighbors have the "there goes the neighborhood" attitude. We aren't bad people. So what should I do? Ignore them? Or speak up? Any suggestions?

My wife says sitting because the position is better as you are naturally spreading your cheeks. I say standing. This may sound silly, but it really is a serious question.
