Here's what a friend said - "If one more f*$@ person touches my f*&%$# belly, I will drop kick them and thump them till they cry". I must agree with her! When I become pregnant, I think I will wear t-shirt that says "touch my belly and die". I can see maybe touching a close friends belly if you have asked if it's ok, but to touch a complete strangers belly is just rude! My question is why the need to touch someone's pregnant belly? I have never understood the fasination!

I know when I was pregnant I hated people touching my belly...even family members but especially strangers....how would you feel if I came up and touched YOUR stomach right now? Having a baby seems make people think they got the right to invade ur personal space...
If, on the other hand, someone asked me if they could feel the baby move or something, 9 times out of 10 I would say yes...I just didnt like feeling threatened by all these strange hands on my body when I was so vunerable...

yes they do get upset. i'd like to correct the wording in your question - touch a pregnant woman's stomach. it is not her stomach, it is her abdomen. the stomach is the organ into which your chewed food doth fall.
if a stranger - male or female - were to approach you and touch your breast because it sticks out further from your body than any other body part, wouldn't you get upset???
it's the same thing for pregnant women. just because she is with child gives no one the permission to touch her body - any part of it. stranger or known person, it is down right rude and unacceptable behavior.
around her person on this earth, is an imaginary circle. this is known as a boundary. for some, the imaginary circle is only four inches from their faces, and others it's four feet. you must be invited into this imaginary circle. and if you are not, then back off.
groping another person without their permission i would think could be pressed into being assault. so, hands of the abdomens of the pregnant women - or she just might clock 'ya.

Being pregnant doesn't give strangers or people the right to touch a woman. It's still her body. Even if the baby is out of her body, people shouldn't feel they can touch the baby without permission from the mother.

Yes it's rude! Some women seem to like it, but they'll let you know. Never touch anyone's stomach, pregnant or not, man or woman, without an invitation or if you know the person well you can ask... (and don't push it if they say no!).

It is never ok. No matter if you know them or not. People who do this just haven't been taught correctly. And yes pregnant women to have the right to get upset at this especially if they didn't get there permission. It's time these other people grow up and start asking for permission. And stop acting like two year old's.

It is amazing that a pregnant belly causes some people's manners to go flying out the window. It is never okay to touch a stranger without being invited to.

I haven't been pregnant yet, but I know that no one other than my husband better touch my belly without asking permission.
A stranger touching your belly is a violation. Your belly doesn't become public property for everyone to touch simply because your pregnant. People should still respect you. They wouldn't go any touch someone elses belly, so leave a pregnant belly alone.
You shouldn't violate someones space like that.

There are few people who I would allow to touch my belly without asking permission now. I don't see how it will be any different when I'm pregnant.

Definitely! No one wants a stranger coming up and touching them. Several of my friends who were pregnant complained and about this all the time.
