I work with some very gossipy women, and every Monday when I walk in they ask me if my fiance and I are married yet. How do I get them to stop?

Jokingly tell them that the minute you find out, they'll be the first ones to be told. That should shut them up...

Hi brj2585
I understand very well about how some women just want to be really nosy and get in on all of the gossip that they can.
You might try coming back at them with " Why do you want or need to know?" Sometimes, this works because it catches them off guard and they won't know how to respond. But, if they are still rude and crass enough to respond back, just tell them that you and your fiance have not made a decision yet, then walk away from them. Good luck and blessings upon your future plans.

I know that it bothers you, but coming back with a snide remark btlls them that it bothers you and they might just continue to ask. If they knew it bothered you, do you think that they would stop.
If so, then just say something like:
"you know, you girls ask me that each Monday, if something changes, I' I'll let you know."
Maybe they just ask because they want some way to include you in the conversation and that is the only question that they can think of at the moment.
And, maybe they want invited to the wedding.
If they still ask you, find one response and mindlessly give it each time they ask.
Pretty soon, they will get tired of asking because you are giving the same response over and over again.
If you want to be funny, have little cards made and whenever they ask you just hand them a card with an answer on it.
You could even make it look like a wedding invitation, if you wanted to be silly or crazy.
They will open it up, thinking that you have finally given them a wedding invitation and your same answer will be printed on the card.
But, this is usually for those persistent people who just won't stop asking, even after you have politely asked them not to.

If it's true that they are very gossipy, there might not be a way to
"tell them" to stop. But there is a way to get them to stop
asking you. There are times when the best defense is
offence.
Asking them about their personal lives might put them on a
whole other track. Do it.
The person with the power to change thesubject can control the conversation. If they're as gossipy as you say, they're not lacking in other people's business to talk about any how.
Intruding into any one's personal life is trespassing. If you can
change the locks on the door to your house, you can change
the subject, locking out gossips.

LOL there are 5 people out of 15 at my work that have yet to set a date so we are always bugging eachother, though not in a gossipy or mean way at all. though when the first girl got engaged everyone kept asking her when the date was and it was driving her crazy I finally made her a sign for her desk,"no date set" and it had wedding related pictures on it, in a joking way people got the hint to stop asking

This is what you do. The next time they ask you say...

So that you all can get on with your lives when and if I get married I promise to inform all of you.

Then when they ask again...just look at them and change the subject.

To hell with politeness. The nosey shrews you work with don't deserve it.

As I have responded on many occasions, "Does it really matter? It's not as though you will be invited to the wedding."

Why don't you just say: "No we haven't YET, but when we do, I will tell you! Until then don't ask!" Smile or laugh and walk to your desk.

Just keep mum. Ignore them. Silence is powerful.

Get them fired. Then start asking them when they're getting that new job.
