I live pretty close to there and not once have I been tempted to go down there and lower myself to that sort of level of greed, I think it's disgusting and has disgraced our nation yet again in the eyes of the world.
I would like to offer to assist with the clean up should extra volunteers be needed, but shouldn't the human "gannets" offer to help, as a way of redemption, if they have an ounce of conscience?

Lets say you were at some concert, game, party or other event and you had to pee.....You have two chocies...one bathroom, porta potty w/e is really clean, pristine, theres one of those seals on the toilet to let you know no ones used it since it was cleaned..but there is no lock...theres no sign saying its occupied or not...the door doesn't even close properly...theres no way you can hold the door shut too...the other option is a toiet that smells nasty theres junk all over the place...toilet not even flushed looks like its been months since someone cleaned it, but it's completely private...once the doors closed, no one can see hear what you do...and it would take more than a battering ram to get the door down.....by the way there is other people around and theres no one available for you to ask to watch the door for you...
so what will it be? A dirty toilet thats private or a clean toilet thats not?

Lets say theres a party goin on with lots of drinks....one girl has too much to drink and runs to the bathroom to make her bladder gladder and neglects to turn the lock another person is in the same predicament and accidently walks in on her....My question is who is at fault? Person who neglected to utilize the lock? Or person who neglected to knock?

Keep in mind in this scenario the lock worked fine

I don't like it when people are rude to me at work or when I am with my family. I am in my 30's, and have stood up and argued for years with my family for my rights and to get respect. I am just TIRED of defending myself. At Christmas I got the courage to get up, take my kids and walk out. I didn't confront anyone, I just left. And the unthinikable happened. Since then I have actually gotten some respect!

So my question is. When someone is being rude to you or invading your space in some way. Is it appropriate not to respond.. and if they just won't let up on you, to walk away? Because I want to teach my kids that mommy doesn't let herself get treated that way. But at the same time, this mommy is so tired standing up for herself and setting bounderies. Is silence acceptable... because for me, it just feels good to not get involved in some conflict or nosy question that someone else is starting.

Iam a really nice guy and help my co workers when needed and have even helped the guy that seems to just do things to drive me crazy all the time. I just like to put in my 40 and pritty much do any task that is asked of me. I think iam pritty nice but now after working their this long I'am begining to wonder. We all shair shop tools and I do have some of my own. I've tryed all kinds of thing to make thing more peaceful between us. I have even returned a shop tool to his work area even though its not his. The guy never picks up his mess I think he is the biggest slob I've ever worked with. He walks around thinking he never does any thing wrong; but to me does some crapy work at times. This guy will do things like leave his mess, trash the rest room, call me names but not directly.
And many other things.Iam not the kind to run to the office. What should I do?

I have this project due tomorrow, and I got to work in a group, one girl promised to do the technical stuff, in exchange for slightly less typing work. Unfortunately, I ended up doing all the technical work and some of her typing work as well. We gave our professor a paper to show who gets credit for what and I'm debating changing the paper to give myself credit, I know it sounds bad to do that and I don't even know how I'd tell her, is this just being mean? I don't want her grade reduced but I don't want her getting credit, and possibly even a higher grade then me because of MY efforts.

I am an environmentalist and have very liberal political views. However, I do not allow myself to be pretentious towards others and always take others opinions/beliefs into account. I live with three other girls and our utilities are included in out rent. We live on an on-campus apartment. Our housing bill is included with our tuition. They turn the thermostat up to the maximum. Usually on 85 degrees. I think this is terrible. Forget the fact that this is a total waste of resources, but a huge money factor. Residence life has threatened to increase our tuition if this carelessness continues. I have asked them in a polite, non-condescending way to keep it at a reasonable level. They laugh and call me a dumb hippie. I don't think this is right. Now they turn it to the complete maximum when I am at class. I think this is blatantly disrespectful and spiteful towards me. I try my best to be their friend and be cool with them. I think this is mean spirited. What should I do?

I work nights, sleep during the day. I was waken by an explosion of sparks just pass my porch on the other side of my tree, at the back of my neighbor‘s house. I hurried outside, but the sparks seemed to have gone and the air thick with smoke.
We’ve had transformers blow on the corner, but this seemed too low for the wirers.
So I called the fire dept. (not 911, because I wasn’t sure it classed as an emergency and I told the operator that the smoke seemed to be dissipating now, so…)
Big ol’ fire truck came out and found a honking huge fire cracker in the bushes.
They took my name and D.O.B. and info, and left saying it was legal firecracker.
Admittedly, I come from a county where firecrackers are strictly illegal except for on the beach on the fourth of July, so I’m completely unaccustomed to firecrackers on open streets like allowed here in Humboldt.
Here’s the Q:
Am I going to be in trouble for calling the FD?
What was I suppose to do with an explosion of sparks and a lot of smoke?
When do you call the FD?

The other day I saw a teenage boy about 14-15 yelling at his mother in the parking lot. He was calling her stupid and really talking down to her, well actually yelling down to her.
A few weeks before that I saw a man in the store yelling at a small girl, about 6yrs old. He wasnt getting on to her for doing anything wrong he was saying things like how dumb she was and even told her to "get her head out of her as*". Should I have made a stand. Should I have spoken up. Should I have told that boy to respect his mom? If you were witness to this, what would you do. Honestly. Not what would you want to do but what would you actually do? What should I have done?

he hates showers, brushing teeth, haircuts. he'd wear the same basketball pants and tshirt for days if i let him. he throws his clothes everywhere, spits in the sink and doesn't wash it out, cuts nose hair in the sink and gets it everywhere. i don't want to nag and i've already tried talking to him, over and over and over again. he just ignores me and laughs or just says sorry he forgot. i don't want to have to walk out on my hubby cuz he's the biggest slob in the wrld. anyone going through this too?

I am getting married soon, and will have about 3 different bridal showers. My boss says I need to have a Sip N' see tea party afterwards to show off all the gifts I receive. I think it's tacky to invite people over just to "show off" all your gifts. If they want to see what I got, they can see it when the come visit me on a regular day or when I host a regular party. What do ya'll think?

For example, "I want this..." and "Don't tell me to...". I can't believe these people. I ought to start charging them for my expertise. Or they state not to tell them to go to a manufacturer's website when sometimes that's the only resource they can use to resolve their issue. Are they mental? Stupid? Or just plain idiots?
