third person that answered, sometimes you answer my questions, so it's nice to say hi...so i will to you 'A BIG FAT CHEERY GOOD MORNING TO YOU!'

It's just that some people go out of their way to be mean to each other, sometimes i go and answer the people that are at each others throats and say a few kindly words.

No....I already get loads of violations for no reason so that would just encourage more through " chatting and communicating"

You have to be careful- there are Yahoo!Trolls that will report you for no reason other than you are "chatting". There are many people that I find interesting and go to their area to answer their new questions all the time but I do NOT say hello- I have been reported a few times and it has to be the trolls!

You are right some are indeed incredibly mean here. I prefer cordiality myself.
I can't beat the big fat, cheery good morning though. Instead, I will smile and wish you a wonderful day. Don't let the gits bog you down!

No, I usually just type the answer. I rarely see anyone saying hi on here, I guess there are sooooooooo many different people there are only a few I recognise anyways!

You aren't supposed to. It could be classed as chat and communication. However unless someone reports you I doubt you would get a violation.

Hi peek a boo, i like your idea, it would be nice to see someone acknowledge you before they answer your question.
Thank you for food for thought.
