The very first decision is probably made in 30 seconds; I do that too when coming into a room with a lot of strangers. Maybe sometimes I'll take a couple minutes before I decide who to talk to first but you gotta start somewhere.
However I don't agree a first impression is as vital as many people make it out to be. I have often enough in 10, 20 or 30 minutes changed my mind completely from that first impression. I'm well aware that 'first impressions' are necessary to make a quick decision when confronted with a large number of strangers (I can't hardly go hand out questionaires before I decide who to approach, can I??), they also are very biassed, based on appearance and whatever that person is doing just that one moment in time... they so often turn out to be wrong! I don't hang on them nor do I particularly care for people who do. If anyone doesn't look past their first impression of me after speaking with me for half an hour or more, their loss, I can do without shallow people like that.

Upon eyesight is when the initial opinion is made there is a aura in about them which is natural picked up it is powerful and correct usually!

thrity seconds, usually people don't even want to look at you if you don't look good, but if you capture their attention enough with a sentence or 2 then you got it man.

you dont get a second chance to make a first impression; and when it comes to time; well time is irrelevant .
