Is it really necessary. When the door is locked they know what you are doing, so is that flush really necessary?

Hello

I have this wierd feeling, to which I desire things with. It is a force of great power and gives me strength.
I really need someone to identify what this force is.

If you read this blog...
http://sabretooth-drivingforce.blogspot.com/
then you can read all about it.

Can you tell me what you think this is and whether I should follow my feelings?

My boyfriend says stupid things all the time that he thinks is funny, but it really isn't. No one thinks it is. Its just annoying!

How do I tactfully get him to stop? I've told him it isn't funny before but it doesn't work. He admits I'm right but then will say something else stupid in a couple hours. Arrrgh!

Who says animals don't have a soul or feelings? Why are SOME people so dead set that humans are superior to every thing around them?

The most educated people seem to know that we are not the only souls out there......If we even have a soul...........I HOPE WE DO

My best friend's uncle, with whom she lives, doesn't pay any attention whatsoever to the world around him or the people in it. She once told him she was going to a new hairdresser because she didn't like how the old one did her hair, and the he asked immediately afterward, "Why don't you just find a new stylist?" Or she'll ask him to please not smoke in their apartment due to her asthma, only to find him standing close enough to an open window for the smoke to come right back inside. He claims she hadn't made these requests, but she and I both know he did as I was there. I find this inattentiveness to be the lowest form of rudeness. What do you think?

It doesn't happen to me all the time, but when it does it's very annoying. Now that I have a child in the car with me I just pull over and let them pass. But still don't people have any respect for other drivers?

Do you have a standard amount in your mind before you even go in and then adjust it up or down after it's over? What factors affect the tipping? If you can tell the therapist tried to do his/her best for you, but you just didn't like their type of massage will that affect the amount you tip?

I give a tour of our offices for visitors sometimes for the company I work for. Is it bad manners for me to chew a little piece of gum while I do this? I don't mean that I sit there and chomp on it, but I'm talking about subtly chewing a little piece of Big Red or something. Is this bad manners?

If you were in a tour I was giving, would you be offended/distracted by this?

This should not be so fraught with anxiety, but.

Am in Ottawa, speak marginal French (French immersion in school, but weak from lack of use), and like to go to Montréal for dinner or what-not now and then. Invariably:

(apropos of me peeking at the back of a restaurant last night)
'Vous cherchez les toilettes?'
(me) 'Oui, merci...'
'Ah -- upstairs and just to the right.'
(me) 'Thanks!'

The second it's evident that I'm Anglo -- the 1st or 2nd time I open my mouth, of course -- I'm always spoken to in English.

Which makes me feel like I might be bordering on rude by trying to conduct things in French at all, as though I might be harbouring nasty assumptions about Montréalais English... It definitely seems rude to persist with my awkward French when faced with perfect English, though.

Outside of Montréal, my French lasts a few more sentences, but in Montréal, even getting a 2nd sentence in in French is rare. What's the preferred behaviour for visitors?
