Who's name comes first, the man's, or the wife's?
John & Jane Doe, or Jane & John Doe? I've seen both, but what's the proper way to display?

My coworker has been making fun of the accent of our Chinese Receptionist.
I told him I didn't find that to be funny, now he's upset.
Did I overeact?

I mean, when you go to a store (or any where) you see more uglier people than good looking. Not being shallow or anything. I know alot of people are beautiful in the inside. But I mean appearance wise. I see ugly people everywhere, and good looking people are not everywhere.

This really annoys the hell out of me, morons who answer "don't know" or something equally as moronic. (I'll get bombarded with a ton of "dont knows" now)....so predictable.

I remember when tipping was simply 10 percent, and that was IF the service was exceptional, now its as if they expect a minimun of 15% simply for doing their job - even if its simply mediocre. Its absurd, and yes I know they dont get paid amazingly, but the meals are not cheap as it is - I shouldnt have to pay an arm and a leg for a meal and feel sorry for the server still and make up the losses. Anyone else have any thoughts? What does everyone else tip?

When you lend someone something, is it rude for them to ask you to pick it up? Isn't it their responsibility to return it to you when requested?

Example: I have lent multiple things to a friend who lives in the same city but does have acar. Whenever i request her to return something, she says she cannot get it to me as it is basically an inconvience for her to take public transit over to me. I fnd this very annoying as it is just an inconvenient for me to go pick it up. She also does this when she requests to borrow something.

This person bring lunch for everyone and this is an informal setting (small office.) After an hour, I need to get back to work. How do I cut the lunch off at one hour or is it rude to start working while they talk?

What to do? Being rude is not a possibility (so please don't suggest it).

Thanks in advance!

this country(usa) was formed largely to escape prejudice because of your religon, and yet there is still prejudice against religon, race, sex, color, nationality, sexual preference, and even opinion. why are our thoughts no longer our own? today our schools are filled with hatred, which makes for a unhealthy learning enviroment. same sex schools used to be a better learning enviroment, but now there is a constant fear that the person next to you is homosexual. co-ed schools are filled with all types of sexual harrassment and abuse. when does it stop?

Last Christmas my husband and I bought my mother in law a beautiful jewellry box. On Christmas Day after enjoying a big dinner I prepared, and dealing with the constant arguing between my mother in law and my father in law (they were in middle of divorce at time), they left our home. The MIL left her gifts behind in our bathroom. At first I thought that she forgot them, but she phoned the next day and said that she will be downsizing her things to move from a large house to a smaller apartment and did not want the gift. I was incredibly hurt and felt her actions were cold and rude.

I do not feel like I want to give her anything this year, but will feel guilty when she sends gifts for us and the kids. Thought about sending her letter to not send us anything-would this be inappropriate? What would be the appropriate way to handle this.

There are so many girls that I know who will break out the term “stalker” anytime a guy expresses interest in her. It’s such a load of crap. It’s so blatantly false. If there were as many “stalkers” out there as people say there are – nobody would be doing anything because everyone would be too busy “stalking” everyone else. I think it’s also incredible how the “stalker” always ends up being some guy who, most likely, is unattractive in one way or another to the “victim.” Hot men, for some reason, never seem to be “stalking” anyone – even when they engage in stalker-ish behavior. What’s up with this? I’m not saying that people can’t really be stalked…but since when was the term reduced to guys who make a phone call or go out of their way to say “hello” to someone they are interested in? Part of me thinks that people actually enjoy being able to say they “have a stalker” to some extent, since it means that someone out there thinks they are something special. What is the deal?

Especially when answering a question or making a point. Why insult, why not just have proof? Why do people need to use vulgar language? Doesn't that just make them look uneducated?

I found a really nice ring today. I think I'm going to get it but I don't know what size to get because I need to decide what finger I want it on! Besides the left hand ring finger (which is saved for a wedding ring) what meanings are associated with rings on other fingers?

there is a huge line up and that is the only stall or washroom available AND if there are no handicapped persons waiting?

I was once at a bingo hall and that was the only stall available and no one with a handicap was waiting. When I came out of the stall a woman with a walker was waiting and gave me the dirtiest look and mumbled something under her breath.
