i am with you on this one, i think it is a little of both revenge and justice. Personally, I feel if we had stronger sentences for pedophiles and sex offenders like life in prison for the first offense. Instead of waiting until they take a life to do something, we could put a stop to this. We give more time to drug abusers and drug dealers than we do people who abuse children. In most cases those who perpetrate crimes against children receive no jail time. God bless

Wow, I guess that what I thought you initially meant you actually meant. You actually think that the victim is the one who puts the criminals family through tough times because of the victim wanting justice done? Falling to lust? The pedophile is the one who causes all the problems, raping a child. HOW DARE YOU associate the feelings of the raped and the raped family to the family of the criminal/pedophile!!!!!! It does NOTHING but help to 'justify' the criminal not getting properly punished!!! I'm sorry if you know someone who committed such an act and I'm even more sorry that you think this person shouldn't be put through the ringer because you don't want the dirty laundry aired. Education is knowledge, knowledge will open all of us up to what can and should be. By pushing stories like this aside you do NOTHING for past, present and future victims other then allowing the criminals to be let off with a slap on the wrist.

Maybe you should blame the right person for the criminals family being put in the media circus.......The CRIMINAL!!!

You might want to ask that question again when I clicked on the site it said try again later. My opinion is to try asking that again.

Edit*
Ok, I have read the question and I must say I agree with the asker and not your answer. Although, I do not believe in the death penalty but everything else looks good. If a family member of mine did this to a poor child, no matter the age then I would hope justice be brought to him or her. Yes it would hurt our family, but it will have lasting affects on the little child. We'll get over it, that child may never get over it. NEVER! He or she may have trouble just engaging in sex in adulthood. Something we all take for granted. She or he may actually pass the illness on and become an offender as well. We need to stop the cycle before it begins. A harsher sentence will not stop it completely, but it won't be laughed off and anyone with brain cells will reconsider before deciding to hurt a child. He or she may choose to seek therapy instead of playing out sick fantasies. I am surprised at your answer. Very. I would only guess that you don't have any children or you know someone who is an offender. Think about the little kids. They are the victims. Not the offender. By letting them go, we are saying it ok to hurt our children. It is absolutley not ok and I oppose anybody who thinks differently!

I am not sure what your question is. If you want to know how to handle pedophiles and those who choose to harm children, YES! They should either be locked up forever or put to death. History has shown these people CAN NOT be rehabilitated, they will most likely offend again. Yes, it does destroy families--not only the victims but it can destroy the family of the abuser as well. They're serial criminals and will not stop until forced to. If I had those 'tendencies' - I think I would rather commit suicide than to harm a child. And those who are abused are likely to become abusers. Justice for those children would be knowing they will NEVER have to fear the predator ever again!
