Etiquette - October 2006

I have been dating my girlfriend for 9 months and in addition to getting her a gift for x-mas, I was planning to get a small gift for her mom/dad (not individually, but a gift they could share and both appreciate). Mind you, just a nice gesture. Anyway, she has been hinting that I should get her Mom and Dad individual gifts, as well as a gift for her brother, sister, and nephew.

Is is me, or is this really appropriate. I have never done this with past girlfriends. And, it's not like I'm trying to be cheap -- I am just wondering: who's tradition is out of whack here, mine or hers?

I dont mean to be rude and make this a racial question but i am asian and all my friends and everyone i know basically says asian ladies are the worst drivers ever lol im a good driver but people say im crap cos i stick to the speed limit. whats your go on this?

He thinks he runs everything when he does not. There are several other bosses and when they are there he is a nobody and when they leave he thinks he is the ishhhh. my question is i think im going to go to work in the morning sit at my desk for a few hours and wait for him to come in and then try to break his nose. Should i go about doing this to satisfy my rage over him? Becuase i really thought this threw and i really am going to go threw with it.

I have just noticed whilst trying to find a rental that most real estate agents are so rude. they do not care to be polite at all. they should be helping not repelling people away. in saying all this, i work in customer service and i am always polite even when some customers are really rude to me (because they are paying for something, they think they can treat us in a certain way)

Okay, I have a question. And I am in no way trying to offend anybody. So here goes. Black people, why do you not tip your servers and delivery drivers? I mean when I was waiting tables, even the black servers hated waiting on black people. Once I even got into a fight with a black waitress over who would get that table. Servers make less then minimum wage so you can understand why servers hate wasting their time on people who dont tip. Tips are what they make their living on. So here is my question. Why?

I have had enough of people that never phone, visit or return phone calls but feel that if they send me a text messages every few months that means we are 'best friends'. Does anyone else think that it is rude that some people use text messaging as the only way to maintain a friendship?
I have decided that I will be boycotting texting!

They constantly cut you off, fail to announce who they are, take forever to get to the point, or just hang up in your ear when they have the wrong no... It drives me crazy!

Is it just me, or do men tend to turn the TV volume WAAAAAY up? Is there some poor woman in *your* house being deafened an inch at a time, with her hands over her ears, shouting to be heard over the ads, "Honey, can you PLEASE turn the TV down?" There sure is in MY house, and I'm she.

Ok the other night I got up to pee and forgot to put the toilet seat down, later she got up to pee and claimed she fell into the toilet (butt first). She woke me up to tell me about it, I told her to quit exaggerating and rolled over and fell back to sleep. The next morning I asked her why can't she leave the seat up for me. Now she won't cook for me. I've living on Subways since then. No belly rubbing either. Help What's the big deal. What does a guy do to put out her fiery anger?

The strangest thing happened to me today while I was shopping at my favorite Fur Coat boutique. A saleswoman I've never seen there before kept approaching me and saying "Let ME know if you need anything." She emphasized the ME for some reason. Anyway, I ignored her annoyingness, and had another saleswoman who I always buy from help me. When I went to pay for the coat, she approached us and helped the other saleswoman wrap up the coat, even though the other sales woman told her she could handle it herself. She replied "I would like to help this customer." What is going on?!

I had a business relationship with someone that just passed away unexpectedly. We did not get along and he was the reason I left the partnership. He left a wife and 2 young children. I would like to donate to the memorial fund but am not sure what an appropriate amount to donate is, also considering I am on a tight budget.

Caught a punk attempting to rip off a car in a parking lot outside a movie theatre. He had a scredriver in the door lock and it was half out. Didn't call the cops, punk was about 15 years old and he got one of the biggest s h i t kickings of his life.
Wife felt I was a little hard on him.

There was no pity coming from me.

Physics is a difficult subject as it is. But a real big reason I dread it each day is due to the guy sitting next to me. I'm not sure if he has physical education right before. He never looks sweaty but he reaks. I know its him. He raises his hand in class and well...its just horrible. I'm a pretty shy person and don't want to offend him. But I think someone should let him know. But how??
