If you think it is, tell me why you think so.
If you think it isn't, tell me why not.

Don't worry, I'm not a cannibal. I just want to see what people have to say on the subject.

I suggest that people who want to answer this question in a serious manner read up on the subject. Start with the collected works of Robert A. Heinlein.

Who am I to judge? Religious beliefs tell us what is moral and immoral so your answer is based on religion. Under what conditions would someone say it is moral or immoral? The poor survivors of a plane wreck cannibalized to stay alive- the will to survive is innate to all human animals. To have a fund raiser with the menu featuring exotic specials of human kidneys sauteed in onions and garlic with a side of brain- that is immoral, Jeffrey Dalmer immoral.

A few years ago there was a very famous court case that dealt with this subject, concerning a small plane that went down high up in the snow covered Andes mountains. Those who survived did so by eating those who had died in the crash, or who later perished from the cold and extreme conditions. The finding was that in such an emergency, cannibalism was justifiable.
I believe most people would agree with that stance.
Even in less extreme conditions, I'd sure hate to eat a smoker. They'd probably taste like old cigarette butts.
But then, as a vegetarian, cigarette butts would probably be more palatable than humans.....

I disagree Kiz, how does cannibalism fall less than the 'not smart' class? that is unlike its senseless killing and eating. There might want to be civilized cannibals, yet maximum that prepare it are both very tribal or struggle through psychological ailment which substances them a nasty attractiveness. in my opinion, even if it really is a way of survival not something is incorrect...except homicide is dedicated. If someone is useless they at the instantaneous are not a residing being....notwithstanding if you're religious or position self assurance in souls...this body is useless. No different than cremation it really is quite a lot a fish fry pit.

Well if they kill the person just to eat them yes. While it is gross and quite disgusting if they are dead it's not that big of a deal. Especially if it saves their life, like the Donner Party they had to resort to cannibalism to stay alive. But they ate the people that were weak and had already died. It's gross, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Personally I don't think I could do it, but only the strong survive.

If there's an accident and the survivors have to resort to cannibalism, I think that it's okay because of the extreme circumstances. Now, a cannibal murderer, that's wrong. Pretty much, it's only okay if a person isn't murdered to be eaten.

Not IF you are starving, and the only food is a nearby corpse, there's nothing wrong with it. I don't think Lucky's or Albertson's should start dealing in fresh frozen human, though.

Morally smorally, no type of god would want you to starve with perfectly good food laying there. If YOUR god would, then you need to find a new church. Try the Episcopal Church, we use a bit of REASON with our Scripture and Tradition.

Well, I think it is totally right if you absolutely MUST eat another human... I read some book about people that got stuck in the andes that did it. they didn't want to, but they wanted to see their families again..

Although, i read somewhere that if you eat human, something happens inside your brain that causes dementia.

morally wrong in so many ways, and that scenario where if you had to survive, well if you have to resort to eating one another, then there is no chance for survival in the first place,id rather just die than resort to that.....so yeah

cannibalism by killers, well yes that is morally horrific.

Check out the times in history that people have eaten other people. If the people are already dead, and it keep you from starving, eat up!
