Trick and treating is fun. some people say, because it has it's beginning in evil stuff, you should stay away from it.
maybe their right. still, it's lots of fun. it it possible to enjoy the fun and not sin? maybe. what if you passed out tracts to the people who gave you candy? you know, they hand you a snickers, and you hand them a gospel of John.

Your evangelizing, probably a whole lot more than the people in your church who say you should go out that night.

Still, people are slow to change. at my old church they said rock and roll was evil. some of it really is, so is some country, and some rap and what ever. to make peace, I didn't listen to r& r.
around the people it offended.

when not around them, I'd turn it up real loud and dance like a fool. I still do that. only now I dance like a fat old fool.

If your mom and dad are ok with it, go out trick and treating, not as something creepy, and get those gospel of Johns, who knows, you might even end up at someone in your church's house and get them to see, maybe there's room for both.

I'll down a snickers in your honor.

peace out dude

Go trick or treating, all normal young people do, and it is a wonderful childhood memory that you should not be deprived of. To most kids Halloween is just a fun time to dress up really wild and get free candy. You don't need to tell your church what you do this Tuesday night any more than any other Tuesday night.

I know they mean well but the fact is that they are acting on an unfounded fear. Halloween has NOTHING to do with evil or the devil. Halloween or Samhain is based on a pagan festival that predates Christ, but it has nothing to do with devils. It is a celebration giving thanks for the harvest. The treats we give today are based on offerings of food and cakes people gave to show thanks for a good harvest. Costumes originally portrayed something you hoped to bring into your life for the coming year. Dress as an angel if you want to try to kinder, etc. This day is known to be the time of year when the veil between the physical and spiritual world is thin. Therefore in Mexico they celebrate the Day of the Dead--which means they have a little picnic or leave food in cemetaries to honor their departed family members. This is done as a sign of respect and love, nothing evil. In old days the scary costumes and pumpkins carved with scary faces were meant to frighten away any bad spirits on this night when the two worlds are so close. Yes frighten away bad spirits not summon them. I hope knowing these facts puts your mind at ease so you can enjoy your trick or treat for what it is to most americans, a commercialized holiday.
By the way, Christmas trees, yule logs, and Easter eggs were all based on pagan pre-christian religions too.

Go for sure!!! because you want to. Halloween and dressing up is super fun. don't listen your church. God/Jesus are all about fellow-shipping having fun. Listen God and his word. Is there anything that the bible says that would indicate that something like trick or treating is a bad thing. I don't think so but I have not read the whole bible.

Sincerely,

normal christian person that does not listen when the church incorrectly speaks on God's behalf.

P.S Fall festivals could be fun but mostly Christian people attend. Jesus hungout with everyone and so should we. I don't think isolating ourselves allows much oppurtunity for sharing the good news.

I belonged to a Pentecostal church and we help parties for kids in place of Halloween. Personally I don't see a thing wrong with trick or treating. So go and have a good time.

Use your common sense,Who do you want to serve? God or the world and its commercialism of Halloween.......Go buy your self a bag of candy....and watch scary movies with some of the other girls in your church.....If God gives you life for another day.....then halloween will all be over and you stressed for no reason!!!!!....Trust me , I experienced the same when I was a young girl........If your "friends" that are not from the church don't understand ........then u don't need those kind of people around you...........God bless!

Think about changing your religion. Christians can trick or treat. Halloween is really just the day before all Saints Day or Hallowed eve, which is a religious holiday.

Do what you think is right in your heart.

So, Christmas began out as pagan also. i'm particular there is not any damage in Halloween. trust and celebrate existence and do not pay interest to those who make taboos for people to persist with. would not it look ridiculous to non-believers to no longer enable your babies take section? that is why I say to trust. Rom 14:23b and regardless of isn't from faith is sin. Edit: i'd properly be incorrect yet do not church homes attempt to inform you that that's alright to celebrate see you later as you do it with them? I left the legalistic charismatic church that i develop into in for 7 years and would see the position they're coming from now. I used to position self belief in all of those issues that they could inform you. i might want to offer tracks rather of sweet. I now see those moves of mine as very self-righteous and unusual.

If you are a child, still living at home you probably should listen to what your parents say. When you get older, and if you don't agree with the customs of your church, then you should check around and find out that there are other Christian groups as well.
Always remember no church is perfect, no matter what the pastor or people say; only Christ was perfect.
