I mean, when you go to a store (or any where) you see more uglier people than good looking. Not being shallow or anything. I know alot of people are beautiful in the inside. But I mean appearance wise. I see ugly people everywhere, and good looking people are not everywhere.

I tend to find something attractive in just about everyone I see. Though I have to say that's only since I've been older. When I was in my teens and 20's I didn't see people that way. Maybe you get a different perspective as you grow older.

When I was in the academy I knew a young man who definitely was not a Richard Gere type, but he has and still has the most beautiful personality.
Are these "ugly" people clean, wear decent clothes that are clean and pressed, have clean teeth and brush their hair and don't stink?
Appearance isn't everything!

'Attractive' means attractive relative to the average person.
The average person looks pretty good compared to say a chimpanzee, no? I mean most people may not be staggeringly hot, but you could have sex with them.
If we found all other humans staggeringly hot, we wouldn't get much done. So we're programmed to find all members of the opposite sex 'palatable', but only the most promising 'really attractive'.
In fact, you'd expect genetically humans get 'better' looking over time, and that's probably happened.

I think it is more that we, as a society, have been told that certain traits are attractive and others are not. And unless you have every attractive feature, then you are put on the ugly scale. that and more and more people are over weight and this does distort the face and give an unattractive quality.

I think the young people take care of themselves more than we did when we went to school. Especially the guys. But, you are right when it comes to the food court. I can't eat without losing my appetite. It's like all the ugly people congregate to one spot. I hope I'm not one of them, lol

We call it regression toward the mean. As long as moderately attractive people are poluting their genes with ugliness the pretty genes will soon die out.
