My voice teacher is creepy! I want to quit but I want to be nice at the same time. I am paying this guy, and payment would need to stop as well- he is a full-time voice teacher. Please help me. :-) Shannon

The guy is creepy. I am only a in high school, and I want to improve my voice, but not be freaked out by a weird teacher. My parents are still paying him for the time being, but they told me I could quit if I wanted to. (Don't get the wrong idea, this guy is not molesting me, he is just weird).

"I'm afraid I won't be able to continue with voice lessons at this time, there's just so much going on! Day X will be my last lesson. Thanks for all the great coaching."

First of all, tell your parents about the situation. Always go with your gut feelings about someone. There is probably a reason he creeps you out. There are times that even an excellent teacher and devoted student just don't GEL as people--and even THEN, it's best to move on. You just let him know that you will not be taking any lessons from him anymore. You don't owe him an explanation, but if he insists on one, then just say that you've found someone whose "approach" is more in keeping with what you hope to achieve (or some such b.s.). Better still, you let your PARENTS break the news to him since it's less likely he will try to pressure THEM into letting you stay. If he's creepy, he may ask you a lot of questions you really don't want to answer and guilt-trip you into staying.
But really, trust your gut. You may run into teachers who bore you, confuse you, even piss you off because they're mean or arrogant or impatient.. But CREEPY, is a danger signal (even if he isn't molesting you, SOMETHING about him is setting off warning signs in your brain).

Easy....
1. Pay all your fees.
2. Write a kind note telling her that was your last lesson.
3. Go online find somebody not creepy, but hot.
4. Celebrate with your friends.

You shouldn't quit something that you love. If you love singing, then don't quit it just because the teacher sucks. Find a better teacher! hmm.. like me for example!!

Easiest way, just tell him your income level has changed and you can't afford lessons anymore. ;)
Or location or something, you want a studio closer to home or be taught a different vocal style

Just tell him that you don't want to take lessons from him anymore. You really don't owe him an explanation. He works for you.

"I'm so busy with school, my studies are really picking up," etc etc. or if you don't go to school just say that your job is demanding or something lol. Being too busy is the best excuse ever.

Just say "I won't be taking any more classes after (date). Thank you for your service."... and walk away.... It's as easy as that. If he doesn't like, it's his problem. If he asks if there is any problem, just say that you don't want to take any more classes, thank him again for his services, and walk out the door...

Tell him you'd stop taking lessons with him.
You don't have to lie.. but you don't owe him an explanation either.
