It's disgusting! I am a guy and just as manly as any other guy. I still wash my dadgum hands. It's not difficult. It reduces the spread of germs. What's the reason??

Okay some people claim they don't need to wash their hands if they don't pee on them. I guess they haven't considered the possibility that their hands were dirty enough to need a washing before they even made it to the toilet. How about touching the door handle or toilet flusher? People touch those with dirty hands. Everyone should wash their hands after touching these things (and many others). The point is: there's a sink; take advantage of the opportunity to be more clean and spread fewer germs.

For the same reason they don't wash them before they handle food. They don't think and they weren't taught.

Men are germfree, haven't you heard. Somewhere along the line, washing hands after peeing became a "femmy" quality. Everyone should do this but it is not macho to scrub after whizzing. There is a myth that men don't touch the organ while whizzing and women stick their hands in that place. I find it disgusting when women wash so thoroughly that you would think they were going into surgery instead of just taking a whizz. I've watched women lather to their elbows. They must feel their female parts are really nasty.

I don't know about it but I know from experience cleaning restrooms if you go into a mens restroom and then into a womens the womens restroom is always dirtier....
in addition i was watching something on TV about germs, there are approx. 20 times the amount of germs on a public phone or office desk than there is on a public toilet seat. INTERESTING huh?
besides, i can urinate without ever having to touch my penis (is that an appropriate word to say on here?)
anyway there's not much to worry about we're all the same inside anyway!

I always do, and I believe the real reason many don't is 'cause they simply don't realize the huge implications of just that few seconds. Blame it on slack public education on the topic.
A startlingly high number of seasonal illnesses (and much worse) can be averted simply with just 10-20 seconds. Anyone who knows would choose to. Most do not.
In short: Ingorance (the usual). ;)
The CDC considers it important enough to warrant a pamphlet aimed at adults who don't know any better (see source).

Because most guys' mentality is that if they didn't touch "it", then there's no need to wash their hands.

I'd suggest a couple of reasons, stupidity, or lack of concern for others, not to mention one's self. Yuck!
