I'm in a new relationship and my boyfriend's sister, who I met briefly (about 5 minutes), invited myself and my boyfriend (obviously! :) to BBQ with her and her husband. I've met my boyfriend's brother and sister-in-law (who live next door to the sister and brother-in-law and will most likely be at the BBQ). Haven't met any other family and this is kind of a big deal. I know they'll all be scoping things out to make sure I'm good enough for the little brother. (: I am! So no worries there. But, I'd like to bring something as a 'thank you' gift for the invite. What's appropriate??

She does this CONSTANTLY thru the day. There are 5 of us who sit around her and it drives us all batty. It's 6 sniffs, 2 throat clearings, two grunts, mouth smack, then she says "ok" then repeat. ALL DAY. It's odd, one day I asked her if she had sinus issues, she said she never has, no allergies or anything. also, Becuase this is so distintly done in a patter, I HAS to be something ritual de lo habitual. ya know?
SOOOO, what is a NICE way for me to let her know, this is making us all insane and she needs to get a hold of her obsessive compulsive behavior...some days, we all get headaches...
She is a TRULY sweet person, that is what makes it hard. If she were a jerk, it would be easier but she is soo nice...
I SWEAR on my soul I am not making this up for a joke. It actually caused me to be almost depressed today cause I know I would have to listen to that all dang day today...HELP! PLEASE

Like a lot of girls I like to dress hot occasionaly, you know short skirts, low tops, fitting dresses with boots, that sort of thing. I don't dress like a total skank and I am well groomed.
I figure I have a duty to this sometimes while I am still young and pretty. I love male attention in the form of admiring glances, smiles and even winks and wolf whistles. What I don't like is hostile stares, having guys openly staring at me while avoiding eye contact, guys who sit in groups and leer at you, guys obviously following you for three blocks, and having 'cool dudes' trying to engage you in long winded conversations. I find that older men usually seem to know how to discreetly check you out in a non-threatening way, while young guys don't know how. Is this because they get better at it with age, or were men taught to be more civilised once?

They just seem to accept it as part of life rather than get caught up in our puritanical prudishness.

I am just looking for examples of how women love to be complemented. Everyone likes to be complemented but women especially beautiful ones get told how good they look every day. This has to get old and lame. They already are convinced that they are pretty. I want to 1. look deeper into what makes a woman and 2. give complements where they are do. Not just to dates but to lots of people I meet. Lets make it a better world.

My boyfriend was loaned some money by his brother 11 years ago.--right after his wife and oldest child were killed in an accident. Now, after all of those bills associated with the accident have been paid off, he is in a position to pay back the $200 to his brother. It was never identified as an official "loan", but he still desires to pay the money back. How much would you think would be a good amount to pay back--assuming you were the loaner?

During an opening statement, as i understand it, that is one of the first phrases used. How does one use that phrase though. Is it like a , "may it please the court to introduce myself" or a " May it please the court. My name is...."

I'm just a tad bit confused. Also, is it the very first thing you say, or do u introduce yourself first? if i could get an indepth answer from someone in the legal field that would be awesome :-)

Today, on the way to lunch, my hubby drove by the sitters home and our 1 yr old had followed the other kids onto the porch. Mind you that this porch is several feet high. About a little over waist high. She was standing on the edge holding onto a pole. The sitters kids were also outside with no adult? Her & her hubby was both there. She said she was on the potty & he was doing dishes. Now, I don't understand how this happened? She happens to live on a major highway also. So, my hubby glances up, sees her, turns around and comes back, gets our daughter & knocks & screams at the door for the sitter 4 or 5 times. Finally her hubby comes to the door and is like ..."Whats going on" . So, needless to say..I don't know what to do?? I know what I should do, but she is my friend and her hubby is our associate pastor and I kinda feel wrong in doing it....any suggestions? BTW, my hubby thinks she is not taken care of while she is there...she has came home dirty more than once...

When tipping a waitress, bartender, or other person who works for tips, do you consider quality of service, or lack thereof? Or do you just tip because you think you should? Or do you not tip at all? Just looking for info -- I work for tips and am curious.

I don't want you crashing into my car because you are distracted with your cell phone. Are you so important that you can't go to the grocery store for 30 minutes without your phone? Do you really need that phone on your walk around the block? Give me and everyone else A BREAK.

I got married in March. Last nite I recvd. a text message and it had thier phone# on it. The text message said: I live u, always have, always will.
At first, I thought it was some one playing a joke, like my husband or something. No such luck, then I write to them back and fourth asking, who is this? is this a joke? Well, he forwarded all these messages to my husband, so my hubby got in to it with him. But I still dont know who this is. I just did a reverse cell phone# search and it's a cell phone in Victorville, ca. And it belongs to sprint. Please help me anyone.

I lost a baby a few years ago, and when the subject comes up, the person I'm talking to always...ALWAYS asks, "how far along were you?". I feel that this is nobody's business, and frankly, what does it matter? My baby died...does being farther or less farther along, make it better or worse? I think this question is just about as inconsiderate as a question can be. What can I tactfully, say to the people who ask, "How far along were you?" to let them know their question is very inappropriate?
