Today I heard a radio talk about how powerful the fan clubs were in the 50's and 60's, and how the performers would go to a lot of trouble to make the members happy. Did you ever belong to one ? Was it a worthwhile thing to do ?

i'm not religious, so i doubt my prayers would count or work. so if you are religious, please could you pray for my friend. her dad died just a couple of weeks ago from cancer. she was absolutely devastated. please can you pray for her and her family to help them get through their first christmas without their dad/husband, and to help them cope as they enter the new year. please help them.

thank you.

or used for anything for that matter, just the first example i thought of.
do you think players that use it should be fined?
also, if god makes one person or group win over another, does that mean he plays favorites? isn't god supposed to love everyone equally?

Need to say: I am an atheist and have no religious agenda here. I surmise (for myself) that about 30% of all Muslims either embrace violence, or turn a deaf ear to it. Though I fully embrace religious freedom of expression... is it perhaps time to exert pressure on this particular religion that seems to tolerate violence? If you agree; how shall we do this most appropriately and in recognition of moral Muslims who eschew violence and work for peace? How do we as a society correct the corruption and blithe apathy within their ranks?

I mean, the whole concept of the Christian God revolves around unquestioning faith, praise, and servitude.

I'm not very familiar with the Christian faith but do ALL denominations of Christianity believe you are born with sin or always sin and that we are undeserving of God's love? It just sounds so bleak. I'd like to think that I'm a good person and although I don't make the BEST choices ALL the time that I will not go to hell because I said a cuss word but have not been baptised. Does that make sense? I mean I guess we don't deserve God's love, but I just don't like that some Churches make it sound like we don't deserve it and never will and no person, how hard they try, will ever be worth anything in His eyes. You know?

I think they might subconsciously think that thinking outside of one's cultural background and giving up tradition and heritage in search for the truth (which replaces what the tradition that's lost at least 5-fold) is a difficult task and they may not have the courage to do so.

As an African American Male Atheist, I am a minority of a minority. So, it is obvious I wouldn't want to bring this upon myself unless it's something I truly wanted. Atheism is so liberating to me. I can study all different cultures and learn so much wisdom from various myths without believing in them. Life is truly more enriching this way.

The thing I lose is my heritage, the religion of the slave massa was passed down to the slaves. Ever since, Christianity has been an integral part of African American culture and it encompasses almost everything. The Church is almost the backbone of my tradition and it kind of hurts to give up that part of me for the truth.

According to the Christian faith, the laws about what is unclean to eat, as enumerated and described on the Old Testament, have been cancelled for gentiles. Who was it that announced this event---chapter and verse, please.....

Or am I the only Scrooge on the planet? I try hard not to pee on other people's parades but I am so tired of the bs that surrounds this holiday. The crowds (most of them rude), the commercials, the sappy carols--enough already!

And please--if you don't try to sell me your religion, I won't say anything nasty about it. Deal?

First of all, let me start off by saying this, I AM A CHRISTIAN 100%. I love my Savior with all of my heart and soul! God has given me the gift of evangelism, however I do not push on anyone that is not a Christian that they "WILL GO TO HELL" if they aren't saved. I show everyone the compassion, comfort, and care that Jesus Christ did. After reading several post on here, Atheist/Agnostic/ any other religous, or not religious people, does it bother you that some Christians shove "YOU ARE GOING TO HELL" down your throat?
