I was fond of the Chuckwagon Gang, the Louvin Brothers, Riders of the Purple Sage, Tex Ritter and Gentleman Jim Reeves on the country/bluegrass side of things. Johnny Cash, Ricky Nelson, Dion and the Belmonts, Carl Perkins for Rock and Roll. The Inkspots and the Platters were favorites out sitting along some country road in a 40 model Chevi.

In the 60's it was Dusty Springfield, early 70's David Essex, middle to late 70's - Leo Sayer (when he first came on the scene after being on the Old Grey Whistle Test), Genesis (Foxtrot, Nursery Crymes, were my fave albums), heavier rock, into the 80's I was into reggae - Bob Marley & the Wailers.
Tc was into Santana in the 70's and in the 80's he went off music altogether lol.
In the 90's we were into a wide selection of different styles of music....Whitney Houston, Neil Diamond, a bit of classical, pop, rock, rap, and now it's Robbie Williams, Westlife, My Chemical Romance, Avril Lavigne, The Fratellis, GreenDay......and a host of others!
(sorry got carried away there lmao....you asked about our growing up years...maybe we've not grown up properly yet!)

I'm 40 but I grew up listening to my parents music and I still enjoy it. Don't know many names but all 50s & 60s Rock-n-Roll. The only thing that made me jump up and dance was my high school sweetheart.

The Beatles of course.....I loved all of them! Their music was the fabric of my teens and early twenty's. I can still remember what I was doing the first time I heard 'Hey Jude." The last time my husband and I went to see Paul McCartney it was in in the 90's. I didn't sit down during the whole concert and I didn't have a voice when I left from singing along to every song.
