I mean, the whole concept of the Christian God revolves around unquestioning faith, praise, and servitude.

Man created God in his own image, obviously there was an egotistical man on the design team.

You just won the prize for recognizing the hidden truth.

The reason that it is unquestioning - at least openly - are the threats of punishments (unrealistic of course) that will follow for failure to praise and serve. It is along the lines of slavery with hope, but no guarantee, of freedom and bliss after you die. A lot fo good that does.

He's so egotistical that he created a race of immortal, flying demi-gods to do his will, even though he's all powerful.
However, he claims they are his servants and that they have free will. BUT! If they refuse to do his bidding they will be sent to a lake of fire where they will burn and be in torment for all of eternity.

Yeah. I think that assh*le has some ego problems.

Absolutely correct.

Overly conceited, jealous, orders destruction of cities and deaths by whim, approves slavery, loves burnt flesh offerings and want a single day of the week to be all his (heh, we could use that weekend day to relax or go out watch a movie).

Btw, it's on the same book that this god ordered children who curse their parents be put to death, and homosexuality punishable by death.

I can definitely see where you are coming from. When I was a teenager up until I started college, I always thought of GOD as a big bully who deserved to get his a.s.s kicked so people could be free from his oppressive rules. I have since come to a different understanding, but I can totally see your point of view.

The whole philosophy of the Christian God sounds like a spoiled 7 year old child "believe in me, follow what I say, or burn in hell!"

Yes, Yes, Yes.

And this ego is alive and well in God's followers. They preach equality and justice for all, but at the same time they are involved in huge scandals that rip off the poor believers.

I have come to think of bible thumpers as complete idiots. It is sad and I really don't mean offense to them..but I do believe they have been fooled.

I am simply pissed that we have allowed a lot of people in America to become insanely rich off the word of God...and guess what, they are keeping the money.

I could offer a ton of examples, but for the sake of brevity I will offer just one.

Oral Roberts' kid just got busted for using university funds to pay for all kinds of personal items and services.

Instead of admitting his guilt, he resigns and states that he talked to God the night before and God told him it was better if he resigned.

Now my question to Mr. Roberts would be, "Did God tell you to embezzle University funds for your own personal gain?".

This is a guy that was making lots of money legally and chose to embezzle funds from the hand that feeds him.

His ego that was apparently passed down from God himself, made him think that he was entitled to spend this money on himself.

And how can we allow guys who claim to speak with God to be in positions to control the education of our youth.

I don't understand at all.

"Woke this morning and it seemed to me
That every night turns out to be
A little bit more like Bukowski
And yeah, I know he's a pretty good read
But God, who'd want to be
God, who'd want to be such an asshole?
God, who'd want to be
God, who'd want to be such an asshole?

Well we sat on the edge of the river
The crowd screamed, "Sacrifice the liver!"
If God takes life, he's an Indian giver
So tell me now why, you'll tell me never
Who would want to be
Who would want to be such a control freak?
Well who would want to be
Who would want to be such a control freak?

Well, see what you want to see
You should see it all
Well, take what you want from me
You deserve it all
Nine times out of ten
Our hearts just get dissolved
Well, I want a better place
Or just a better way to fall
But one time out of ten
Everything is perfect for us all
Well, I want a better place
Or just a better way to fall

Here we go
If God controls the land and disease
Keeps a watchful eye on me
If he's really so damn mighty
My problem is that I can't see
Well who'd want to be
Who'd want to be such a control freak?
Well who'd want to be
Who would want to be such a control freak?"

Modest Mouse - "Bukowski"
