In case you don't know, the movie stars Ben Stein (former aide to Nixon and TV guy) as a "rebel" who uncovers the "conspiracy" about how the "evidence" of intelligent design is being supressed in acedamia. The argument is that the atheist scientists have a religious grudge and "Big Science" is covering up proof of creationism.

i don't know what to think about the top contributors to yahoo answers, i mean is that really something to take pride in? on one hand you have lots of great answers that help people, i'm assuming they must have intelligence but on the other are they unemployed? how do you find time to answer so many question? are they shut ins? is their life just the internet? i'm really curious to who these people are in real life. i can honestly say i will never be a top contributor.

Just a little mental exercise, here. Those who lack the capacity for hypothetical situations need not play along.

Pretend, for a moment, that I would like to convert to the religion that you practice, but you don't want me to. What reasons can you give for me NOT to do it? Do you think you can talk me out of it?

Do your damnedest (figuratively) to push me over to the other side. Be creative! I'm pretty stubborn.

Thanks in advance for your answers. I hope everyone has fun with this question.

One year on Christmas Eve, my husband and I delivered a Christmas meal to a needy family. We were so excited about giving them a turkey, dressing, all the trimmings for a nice dinner. When we got there, the recepient seemed disappointed. She said "But I told them I need a refrigerator."
It took a lot of the joy out of it. I'll admit I get a high from doing that type of thing but not that time. Anyone else have a similar experience?

The only unforgivable sin is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

Some people get very worried because they think they've committed this sin. However, if you're worried that you committed the unforgivable sin, don't worry, because if you really did blasphemy the Holy Spirit, you wouldn't care.

In order to commit the unforgivable sin, someone has to ascribe the powers of the Holy Spirit to Satan. That is, if someone witnessed the miraculous and good works of the Lord, and then said that it was Satan who was doing those things, it would constitute a blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Such a sin is unforgivable.

Here are the scriptures that talk about that, which are found in Matthew 12:22-37…

After about 5 minutes of listening to your church minister preach, you think to yourself "This is a topic I have heard about before?" Then, without a moments thought as to where you are, you blurt out "Drink!"

some of you are blessed to have a sister from birth. Others find a sister in a close friend. Some of us are granted a sister through a relationship with Christ. How does having or being a sister change you? How do you influence others because of this relationship?

hi. i have a few questions about purity rings. first of all to start
out with I'm 13 years old. (turning 14 in 3 months) and i believe
in no sex before marriage. i really want a purity ring, and i think
its something that would be nice.

so first...
what's the difference from buying a regular ring at
a regular store, than buying an actual purity ring?

do they bless it? or what.

sorry people, i'm stupid, but i just really want to know
about this. i would appreciate if you could help me out!

I don't remember my first time, I may have figured it out from Warner Brothers cartoons, but it was before 3rd grade. I told the 4 or 5 Mormon kids who were grilling me that I didn't believe in God. When they asked me why I wanted to go to Hell I said I wanted a tan. Yeah, I've always been a smart@ss.

I was with a new boyfriend and we were in K-Mart, I bent down so he wouldn't see and then wiped my nose on a children's shirt.
He later said if I would've told him what I did, he would have dropped to one knee and proposed on the spot.

Math, Science, Physics,English, History.

In your opinion would that produce more people of faith or less?

Do you think a decent education would make people less inclined to need GOD because they would have the ability to make more money? and if that is what you believe are you saying it's Money and Man's education the only thing a person needs to be:
Successful, Humble, Happy, Kind, Giving, Tolerant, Loving and Peaceful ?
Or does having money, power, great education cause most to be Arrogant and look at themselves as thier own personal (god*)?

the birth of the sun god, not the son of god? what if we went back to solstice being the reason for the season?

what if we had big dinners with family and light a yule log? what if we decorated trees with ribbons and shiny things? what if we kissed under mistletoe and hung wreaths on our doors? you know, all of those pagan customs! oh wait, we already do those

so how would you feel if "christmas" went back to it's roots?

and yes, you can still give and get presents!
