The fact is I don't know and there is no reason to even think about it.
If..
...there is no god there is no proof.
...there is a god he's all knowing and would know what would convince me even if I don't.
Too dismissive? Okay how about this. The proof of a thing exists only in the thing itself. Presenting me with a tree doesn't prove that dragons exist.
No human could ever possibly present proof of a deity. Only that deity could could prove themselves. And honestly 'appearing' proves nothing but existence. And some would argue not even that.
Existence doesn't prove them a god otherwise we are all more god than god.

to Albus - I can only say that I have taken a biased look at both. But biased toward the theistic side. And yet when I became a teenager it simply made less and less sense until I had to come to the obvious conclusion there is no evidence that comes anywhere close to the level of the claims.
I would love to hear what history you're referring to that proves the existence of an all powerful being that created everything. Because frankly a thing only proves itself. I have no qualms with you believing anything you like. It's your belief. But history only proves history. You are not going to objectively find history proving theology.
If historical accuracy proves theology to someone then they can not deny David Koresh being the return of Jesus because everything surrounding him is more historically accurate and proven than the evidence for the Jesus Christians believe.

Physical proof - ie. evidence.
Failing that, then logical proof - and not the gibberish that religion "preaches" all the time - making claims for which there is no proof or evidence of.
eg.
Does life exist elsewhere in the universe like us?
Answer: Yes
Scientists tell us that life MUST exist elsewhere because it is very likely that there WILL be other planets like Earth, in a life bearing zone around other suns.
There such things as ETs can exist - who can be as intelligent and advanced as we are - but also much more advanced and more intelligent, etc etc.
Therefore these ETs will have the capability of space travel, even travelling far and wide.
And even be able to visit our Earth, if they wish to?
Therefore UFOs are possible and probable - such that ETs have been visiting us.
Not all UFO sightings would be genuine - but a few could be...
What has this to do with God?
Well a light bulb might go off in your head, about the connection... but maybe it won't? Because your awareness is not such as you thought it was....

Which God?
Its not that I don't believe in God per se, I just don't believe that the scriptures are his inspired words.
Let him come down and teach us all at the same time. God could do that.

The Bible is not adequate because it is a book that could have been wriiten/obtained and followed by anyone. it is but a spreaded belief.
God needs to get down here and answer the following
1. How can a man get ate by a whale and survive?
2. Why is so much happening if you are supposed to be there?
3. How come praying to you doesn't solve disators from happening?
He needs to show himself!

and this is why those people don't believe ; they need a rock to fall out of the sky and hit them ; they need to demand from God what they need for him to prove himself ; God is superior and they won't get it ; EGO ; they demand as if they are GOD, hence it is easier to understand their position; there is proof , the universe exists in harmony without the input of mankind but some people need more than what they have in front of them; you don't demand from God, first mistake; too clogged up with self; I guess they have all found the cures for everything b/c they know everything already.

Why do you need for me to believe in God? I'd have to have no self worth and feel like I need for there to be a God. Then I'd actually expect some evidence. And I'd actually have to meet some credible Deists.

Bad question, you are now only going to get atheists saying stupid stuff like "He's got to start existing"
I'll tell you what converted me from agnostic to believer: common sense, take an OBJECTIVE look at the Biblical version of history and then take a look at what you get taught in school, the Bible makes much more sense.
I'd like to remind any atheists who may read this and then post an answer to the question that i said an OBJECTIVE look at it, that means no dissmissing my point without taking a good look at what is going on, from a completely even handed point of view.

This "god" would have to swoop in from the "heavens" with attending angelic choir and cherubs in complete view of every human being on the face of the earth, during daylight. And, this god would have to stay around a while and answer questions....
If there were such a being, he/she/it/them has really screwed everything up and needs to answer for it.

Money from the Templeton Foundation.
*waits*
K, it didn't work. Nothing, really. Proof of God's existence wouldn't make it belief. It'd make it knowledge.

Not the Bible, Qu'ran, or other religious text maintained by human hands.
Not anyone telling me from their own personal experience that they've been saved, blessed, resurrected, or reborn by Jesus, Muhammed, Jehovah, Moses, or God.
God would pretty much have to come up, slap me in the face and say, "Yeay, mortal for I do exist and shall smite thee for being a naughty nonbeliever!"
