Fiction or non-fiction?

-
A simple Gospel analogy is that all are trapped in a burning building…and there is only one Way out. Thankfully, God graciously, mercifully, and lovingly opens the Door wide open and allows ANYBODY through. He turns away no one…and all can walk right out and be free.

And non-Christians often say to this, “What fire?”

Tsunamis, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Floods, Earthquakes…
War, Holocausts, Genocides, Murder, Rape, Terrorism…
Hypocrisy, Sexism, Oppression, Racism…
Disease, Illness, STDs, Cancer, Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Death…
Corrupted Christianity, False Religions, Cults, Brainwashing, Pedophilic Priests…

Do I really need to go on, and on, and on, and on….?

The Bible calls non-Christians “blind” and even "spiritually dead."

I use to think this was a bit harsh…

But does the shoe fit?

Perhaps it would be nicer to call them an ostrich...and that they just have their head in the sand...?

Blind, dead, or ostrich - what do you think?

I can't fathom how men seem to treat the violation of a human-being, as a joke.

What do you guys think?

Why do we quote God when there is absolutely no way to know what he said?

Why do we document God's actions before any other life ever existed?

If he actually talked to people, you really think he would waste his time revealing what he said when there was nothing there to listen to him?

Why did God say "Let there be Light," anyways? There wasn't anything there to listen to him.

Why did people write the Bible so long after the fact - and is there any chance they misremembered?

While God was instructing everyone on what the Bible should say, do you suppose he could have taken credit for the actions of Mother Nature, Zeus, or Ra?

How come He was so eager to show off his stuff during earlier times of hardship, but now decides not to perform (noticable) miracles when hardship is more prevalent then ever before?

You don't have to answer all of them, but give me something. And don't seriously answer the Ra question, that was a joke.

Do guys rate guys on like a 1 to 10 scale (I know a lot of guys do this). Is it more of a personality over looks thing? I know that a lot of guys say that they prefer a guy's personality over their looks but there are a lot of shallow men out there- I just get the feeling aren't telling the truth when they say that. I mean, I've dated a couple of them and it was really obvious how I was just like an "accessory" to them. Why is it that some men feel this way; it just frustrates the hell out of me why most times I'm not in a "real" relationship!

I don't know...sometimes when I first date a guy he'll tell me that I'm a good looking guy and by the end of it he'll tell me that I'm not even attractive and how I should be lucky that he took pity on me and dated me! Is he just saying this 'cause I broke up with him or what? I mean I think that I'm a decent looking guy, I'm not bad looking but I'm not like an actor or something.

If a business is sending out a flier with "holiday" specials, would putting a picture of Santa on the flier be offensive to the Jewish and other religions?

I personally don't believe it would be, as a fat elf-turned human (thanks to Coca-Cola) really isn't a religious symbol in my mind.

My boss would like to put a Santa image on the flier, but then second-guessed himself because we know some of our customers are Jewish.

I personally believe he's trying to take the political-correctness too far. I just want other opinions.

i'm not sure if it's just this country, but certainly i know that a lot of people here do not take religion seriously. people here really don't care about having or living a spiritual life. they think you go to church once a week, believe in god, don't do anything to evil or bad and you are set. easterners tend to embrace their religion, using it, living by it in everything that they do. i'm sure you have people like us, but i doubt its in as many numbers. just as i assure you, we have people here that do take their faith seriously, but the numbers are very small.

my question to you is, do you find atheists as (please excuss word choice)pompus? even as a person myself, not believing in god, they annoy me, more than any religious person "shoving their religion down my throat." to me it is dumb. no other group of people marches around and declares what they don't believe. i don't see them complaining to take remove santa clause from the malls, and we all know he's not real.

[Caveat: Yes, i know not all - this question is pointed at a very specific section of R&S]

When did the acceptance of a belief or disbelief constitute a universal judgment on an individual's intelligence or morality?

Isn't that a little too reductionist?

How many of you experiences snow on Christmas day?

I was living in New Orleans In 2004 when It happened. Let me tell you it was the most awesome sight (aside from seeing my babies for the first time)in the world. I never realized how awesome it was.

To see snow in New Orleans is one thing but on Christmas that is a miracle. Someone got their wish.

I want to see it again but I live in Southeastern Texas now.

For many years the Holidays were extremely hard.

I was an orphan and the only real "family" ideas I had came from books and television...of course that is not reality.

I have finally learned to not have any expectations, just enjoy friends and family and take each day as it comes....Bless! Anyone?

I've recently been sent several emails to that effect.

"[Perhaps Yahweh] DOES 'let' these things happen for a reason. For instance, this baby is in heaven right now, infinitely more happy than you or I. So, it could be said that good came from such a tragedy."

"...every action has a reason, and every situation, no matter how tragic, has a happy ending."

Do you agree with the perspective of this particular Christian?

Isn't wearing a cross kind of morbid? It was the tool used to kill Jesus. When we celebrate the life and death of JFK should we be wearing a rifle around our necks?
