I think I damaged my axial tilt ~ which I guess explains why I feel so frisky. Of course, things happen differently down under.

Interwestingly the weally hot weather is about 6 weeks after the summer solstace (in Sydney at least)... similarly in winter the really cold weather is about 6 weeks after the winter solstace. This lag is, I think, caused by the thermal insulation provided by the Earth's atmosphere... in materials science it is known as a "thermal lag" and we put it to good use when designing buildings.
