I was raised catholic and well I have never liked going to church, thought it was boring and sooo quiet, full of .... don't know... like now we pray "in silent", now we do this, now we do that, having to confess my sins to another human and him having me pray 10 Hail Mary, etc. I think is too much, why cant we just pray to god in our own words not in the same repetative way all the time. Dont know if I am wrong, but I went to a christian church and they dont really like "pray" the say a story about God or something that has to do with God and people sometimes like "participate" like saying "praise the lord" or whatever but they are not all quiet.

Well my point is that I am trying to find a church where I feel comfortable and dont know if I am wrong for thinking that way, I only been to a christian church once, so my question I guess is if you are christian what would you tell me to believe your church is the one for me and I ask the same to people from other religions.

I just heard some old hag on her cell phone in the restroom talking to someone about a girl named Lynn who keeps making one bad decision after another because she must "like being miserable". I find it hard to believe anyone would LIKE being miserable. So, what are your thoughts?

hey guys
well im christian. but i've noticed that a lot of atheists seem to think that christians always try to force their religon on others. some of them do, of course.
but what about you? i have been reading some of your answers and you seem bitter, spiteful and egotistical for the majority. you treat us like we're idiots to believe and continuously tell us that you don't believe in fairy tales, neither should we, and that there is overwhelming evidence for this or that.
is that not a little hypocritical, guys?
i feel no hate or dislike toward anybody, atheist, christian, budhhist--whatever. i respect your religion even though i do not follow it.
but why do most of you seem so adamant and insistent and, pardon me--rude??

Thought this would be fun.

Now, which religion has the coolest members (just a heads up you can't say atheists and you can't say nobody)?

Which one is the most believable to you (Once again, you can't say atheists and you can't say 'none of them')

Long time used tree trimmer came to my house to do work. He's a charismatic preacher. He asked if he & wife could pray for me. I said, sure. In praying,he said there was something in my past that I was ashamed of and someone was blackmailing and intimidating me because of it and asked the Lord to erase the guilty from my soul and not allow the intimidation any more. He was right. I am an alcoholic and caused pain to my family. Haven't had a drink in 7 years. Youngest son can't forgive me, but won't tell me exactly how I wounded him. Mentally, I believed I had to put up with all of his BS, otherwise I wouldn't get to see my grandson. Been in therapy (long before preacher thing), started standing up to my son, and still get to see grandson. The preacher said God told him to approach me. He said he's known for a long time. What do you think? He does tree work for me, but doesn't know me otherwise.

Read something today, that I believe is "food for thought"

To one with faith, no explanation is necessary.
To on without faith, no explanation is possible.

Have you ever of the saying "attraction, rather than promotion"?
This quote made me think of that saying.
Reason being, do you notice how you lose a person's attention or even run the risk of annoying them, when you try to promote your faith?
I understand completely why us as Believers want to spread the "Good News"
But doing that does it ever concern you that sometimes your doing more harm than good?
That sometimes we get in the way of allowing God to do only what God can do?

Please believe, I am NOT trying to cause a stir.
For I am so grateful for the people in my life who inspire me to change, by "testifying" about their journey(s).

Blessings to all and thanks in advance.

I see some people are serving Christmas pudding this Christmas. I have heard of plum pudding but never Christmas pudding. I read it originated in England and it is a British tradition. How is this pudding made and do people really let it hang for weeks? That is interesting. How good is it and is there a place in the states I could sample some before the holidays are over?

Brown believes there should be no contradictions between faith and science because the Creator of the universe is also the God of science.
A West Point graduate and tenured associate professor at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Dr. Brown taught physics, mathematics and computer science at the college level. He served as head of science and technology studies at the Air War College and was a National Science Foundation fellow

If those statements are true do you think that lesbian moms have ruined the fantasy for their sons? My teenage son seems to think that I have killed the all girl hotness for him. Do you think this is true?

My son, 8 years old, wants to give to others less fortunate this holiday season. He showed me a World Vision gift catalog that has various items you can give to poor families around the world. I was touched by his giving spirit and agreed to help him change lives this Christmas. These are gifts that will last a lifetime such as livestock, clothes, a fish farm, fruit trees, health care and much more. We only need raise $675 to achieve this goal. Here is the link to give today, you will get a tax receipt for anything above $15. http://www2.worldvision.ca/gifts/event/232492 In the event that we raise more than that amount, we will be paying for education for girls in China. The cost is a mere $65 per child for life! These families would not have these opportunities if it were not for people like you who desire to give from what they have been blessed with. This has helped me to realize just how spoiled we are! Help us to help others. Thank you!!

Our Cooperation.

We know that for the Lord to complete His good work in our being that we have to work along with Him. He has promised to empower us, to supply us with life, to be there as our Shepherd before us and as our Overseer with a bird's eye view. But day by day, how do you and I give Him our cooperation in carrying out what He has begun in us?

There are two verses that I want you to consider. They show our part and they also show God's part as we work together for the fulfilling of His good Pleasure.

Phil 2:12-13
So then my beloved even as you have always obeyed not as in my presence only but now much rather in my absence.. work out your own salvation with fear and trembling

For it is God who operates in you both the willing and the working for His good pleasure.

Daily He supplies Himself as the " manna " but do we cooperate to awaken to gather the manna? Share on how this kind of word speaks to you practically in your own life?

In Christ
