I was raised catholic and well I have never liked going to church, thought it was boring and sooo quiet, full of .... don't know... like now we pray "in silent", now we do this, now we do that, having to confess my sins to another human and him having me pray 10 Hail Mary, etc. I think is too much, why cant we just pray to god in our own words not in the same repetative way all the time. Dont know if I am wrong, but I went to a christian church and they dont really like "pray" the say a story about God or something that has to do with God and people sometimes like "participate" like saying "praise the lord" or whatever but they are not all quiet.

Well my point is that I am trying to find a church where I feel comfortable and dont know if I am wrong for thinking that way, I only been to a christian church once, so my question I guess is if you are christian what would you tell me to believe your church is the one for me and I ask the same to people from other religions.

I think both have pretty much the same beliefs, God and Jesus, which I believe in, but that I know of, catholics pray to a specific saint for a specific thing, I believe that anything you want to pr ay for should be prayed to God an d I dont like well at least my family that is catholic tell me, buy a candle for "saint ..." or put "saint.." up side down so he can hear you or whatever, mmm I just say, just ask God, pray to God, thak God. Thats it. All I want is to believe and have a relationship with God, andI am totally confused by all the religions.

Like allwisdom says:
about what you ware or the position you have. That another thing I dont like, catholics kiss and like "worship" the pope, who by the way lives in such a luxury, why I don't know another thing is when those"fathers" abused the children and the pope knew but decided to hide it and just move those "fathers" to another church! I guess to keep it from people talking about it. That where they lost me to begin with and when I started thinking of other religions where I am not going to kiss the hand of another human being that makes mistakes just like me and having to see him as "THE pope" sound like something so big when he is just another human being. Hope you understand what I am trying to say.

Before you worry about what church to join; ask yourself what you believe. Read up on different religions. Try to figure out what feels right and wrong with the beliefs they hold. Are you leaving the Catholic church because the practices are too boring or because they are different than your beliefs?

Is it the volume of noise that you have a problem with? Realize that different Christian churches are well different. I went to a Baptist church that was loud and very active. I went to another one that was much more reserved. So, before you worry about the volume, worry about the words being used.

Here is a decent starting place.

Best of luck in your search.

I get the most out of churches when there is no service. They tend to be open all day. I especially like the Catholic churches. Sitting in a pew in the silence and calm, I have always felt a wonderful presence and have always left feeling renewed. Maybe you should try visiting a church when there is no service and see if you feel the same.

I think it's okay to visit different churches and find one that suits you and if you don't find one, you have to ask yourself, should you just keep going anyways? God can see and feel your true feelings so I think forcing yourself to go and feeling nothing is worse than not going at all.

And yes, you should be able to pray to God in your own way whenever you want, I don't see why that would be wrong.

I feel the same way too, im not really a church person, but I believe in God, I also grew up catholic, and always seemed to fight with myself not to go to sleep, I then started going to a christian church, and I love it, I dont go as often as i should, but that is my church of choice from now on, If you ask me I dont know what all the different religions are for, its all the same god, atleast thats what I believe.

I was raised Catholic, and as soon as I was allowed to attend church by myself, my friend and I went to the church(so we didn't lie) every Sunday, and then left and went to a burger joint. I did not like the religion. it says in the King James Bible, call no other man Rabi or priest. believe me I was the black sheep of the family for many years, but I became a protestant, way back in the early 70's, I do not attend a church, never have, in the Bible it Say's you can pray in a closet, I pray every single day and night, for my children and family, if I have a problem I pray, I could not stand the catholic church, for all the MONEY MONEY all the time, it seemed that, that's all they ever talked about, and with the problems they have had with molesting children, and the number of Catholics who have left the church, I'm glad I got out when I did. the church is all about MONEY!!!!!!! and the catholic church is one of the biggest land owners in the USA!!!!!, in the bible it says "go yee forth and procreate" it says nothing about, being single!!!!! to me the whole thing with the church is a farce!!!! good luck to you, I hope you find what your looking for, God Bless YOU!!!!!!

I went to church for many years before I accepted Christ as my savior. For me, church was boring until that time. You might check out www.godlovestheworld.com to see what the Bible says about that.

After that, there are lots of different worship styles in different churches. Make sure that they are a Bible believing church that God is working through. Check out several different ones.

I think your religion "Christianity" is the right one. I think you just need to find a church that feeds you well.

you are not wrong...your faith and understanding has increase ...now you need more and your church was not supplying it....being a christian is not about how much money you have...what kind of car you drive....who did have the most important position in church.....what you wear...being a christian is being like-Christ...and following his teaching....so people complicate the simplest of things....read the word of God for your self and you will find what you are looking for.......seek and you shall find....knock and it shall be open....God blesses

Not every church will appeal to everyone. You should have a Bible study and examine religion accordingly and chose for yourself.

You can email me if you want to talk.

I think if religion is boring it is hard to get anywhere with it. You need to find the religion that you enjoy or that means something for you.

With all due respect: YOU GOOFED. The Catholic Church is the TRUE Church of Christ. The Catholic Church is the only place you can receive the true Body of Christ in the Eucharist. You have traded the greatest gift for ann error. I urge you not to leave the Church. Read this:

TRUTH:
There is ONE God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
TRUTH:
God the Son became man: Jesus Christ
TRUTH:
Jesus promised, "I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18), and only the Catholic Church has existed since the time of Jesus. Every other Christian church is an offshoot of the Catholic Church. The Eastern Orthodox churches broke away from unity with the pope in 1054. The Protestant churches were established during the Reformation, which began in 1517. Only the Catholic Church existed in the tenth century, in the fifth century, and in the first century, faithfully teaching the doctrines given by Christ to the apostles, omitting nothing. The list of popes can be traced back to Peter himself, the first pope. Here is the list:
http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/12272b.htm
Jesus’ Church is called catholic ("universal" in Greek) because it is his gift to all people. He told his apostles to go throughout the world and make disciples of "all nations" (Matt. 28:19–20). For 2,000 years the Catholic Church has carried out this mission, preaching the good news that Christ died for all men and that he wants all of us to be members of his universal family (Gal. 3:28).
