In Luke 3:21-38 link: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%203:21-38;&version=31;

...you find Jesus’ genealogy all the way back to Adam (a whole 75 generations). When you read that, are you filled with amazement and awe, or does it make you queasy knowing that people really believe that?

I mean really..... And you can not use the 'they are a cult' because I can connect cult with ANY other religion out there..

Or that they go door to door.. Yes, it can be strange in drive you crazy but to hate them because of it..?

Or that they do not do blood tranfusion... If you think about Catholics drink it. Sounds stranger to me... Of course I know it is NOT real blood but they do call it the 'blood of christ'.

Or that they do not celibrate holidays...Think about it, some religions have a bunny that lays eggs and a fat man that snicks into your house to leave your children presents.. Sounds like a perv to me..

So why..?

I can almost compare everything about them to almost anyother religion out there.. You find something wrong about them I can find something wrong about other religions.

And DO NOT try to bring up the they molest children.. Catholic priest are no better.. .

...Do they also see such books (and their film counter-parts) as 'The lost World' and 'Jurassic Park' as evil, as they revolve round evolution and the fact that these creatures existed millions of years ago?
As this would kinda go against their belief that the earth is a few thousand years ago, and that evolution didn't happen.

Just curious.

Well I did Read the New Testament and here are some things I have found:
Pray in secret... do not let men see you pray. (Matthew 6:1-7)
Marrying a divorced woman is adultery (carrying the death penalty). (Matthew 5:32)
Don't plan for the future. (Matthew 6:34)
Don't save money. (Matthew 6:19-20)
Don't become wealthy. (Mark 10:21-25)
Sell everything you have and give it to the poor. (Luke 12:33)
Don't work to obtain food. (John 6:27)
Don't have sexual urges. (Matthew 5:28)
Make people want to persecute you. (Matthew 5:11)
Let everyone know you are better than the rest. (Matthew 5:13-16)
Take money from those who have no savings and give it to rich investors. (Luke 19:23-26)
If someone steals from you, don't try to get it back. (Luke 6:30)

Here is what Dalai Lama declares:
''If I die while we are still refugees, my reincarnation, logically, will come outside Tibet, who will carry out the work I started.'' - Nw York Times http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/world/AP-Dalai-Lama.html

Could the next Dalai Lama be also the child of a president of another sovereign state? What would happen in a similar case? Could this declaration be a strategy of Dalai Lama?

"More controversially, he also suggested in Japan this month that his successor could be chosen before his death." - New York Times http://www.nytimes.com/reuters/world/international-india-tibet-dalailama.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

since each one is his or her own pope? One teaches one thing and another teaches just the opposite. That is the main reason why there are tens of thousands of Scripture believer sects* in the world today, all teaching something different, and all saying "the Holy Spirit told me". Who has the authority for the Scripture believer to say, "This is the one true meaning of Scripture"? The answer is that there is no authority. It is every Scripture believer for himself in Biblical interpretation which is forbidden by Scripture itself for any Scripture believer to do so, Acts 8:26-38, 2Peter 1:20, 2Peter 3:16.

I saw this stated today. I don't get that accusation. How can it be 'intellectually' lazy to not believe in a deity?

Isn't it intellectually dishonest AND lazy to claim simply that a "God did it!", rather than look for other reasons and answers?

Which do *you* think is 'intellectually lazy' and why?

Hi all insightful christians and charismatics, I have been wondering for ages, Where is the new Jerusalem going to come from. Is it coming like another planet from space? Where is God and where did Jesus, Moses, Enoch and Elijah go? Where is heaven? another planet we dont see?
Could it be that God and His Angels are living on another planet far beyond our reach?

KHARTOUM, Sudan — A 7-year-old Sudanese boy is defending the British teacher accused of insulting Islam by naming a teddy bear Muhammad, Reuters reported.

The boy said Gilliam Gibbons, 54, asked him, as part of a school assignment, what he wanted to call the stuffed animal and he said, 'Muhammad,' after HIS name, Reuters reported.

Okay, here is the problem. My birthday was yesterday and my boyfriend's sister, (whom I also consider to be my friend)
came out with my boyfriend and I to the ESPN zone to play and have some drinks. She didn't play one game and the whole time we were sitting down eating and drinking she texted on her cell phone continuously. I was getting pretty upset when she said "God why do these people keep texting me?!" So I said (very calmly) "Why don't you just tell them you're busy?" She said "I have been" I said "Then why don't you stop answering them?". She never did stop. I shrugged that off until later when she got an attitude with me because my friend called and hurt my feelings. She told me to stop with the attitude. How rude is it that people have the brass rocks to tell you to stop being rude when they are inconsiderate themselves?

like they do with santa claus? when kids ask their parents about santa, it's at that point that most parents tell their kids the truth.

i'm wondering, if kids ask their parents if their god exists around the same age?

also, if my 9 yr old asked me if santa was real and i told her with absolute certainty that he was, she would be inclined to believe me and proceed to tell all of her friends the good news. if i kept up the charade, she would continue to believe in santa. santa would just be part of her life.

is this what happens in religions? the kids start to not believe, but the parents reinforce it enough over and over again that the child continues to believe?
