Okay, here is the problem. My birthday was yesterday and my boyfriend's sister, (whom I also consider to be my friend)
came out with my boyfriend and I to the ESPN zone to play and have some drinks. She didn't play one game and the whole time we were sitting down eating and drinking she texted on her cell phone continuously. I was getting pretty upset when she said "God why do these people keep texting me?!" So I said (very calmly) "Why don't you just tell them you're busy?" She said "I have been" I said "Then why don't you stop answering them?". She never did stop. I shrugged that off until later when she got an attitude with me because my friend called and hurt my feelings. She told me to stop with the attitude. How rude is it that people have the brass rocks to tell you to stop being rude when they are inconsiderate themselves?

Just to clarify, I was NEVER rude to her. I apparently had an "attitude" because my friend hurt my feelings and I was sad and obviously down about it. I wasn't my usual cheery self so she took it as rude against her.

hahahaha, brass rocks. Hilarious ....
espn zone, never been there, sounds cool ....

This is becoming a growing problem in our society. I don't tolerate it much, I go out to lunch with this one moron who will chat on his cellphone the entire time. If its work, then I don't really care, because I know we gotta do business. But mostly its his friends and family calling. I will state rather blatantly that I think its rude to chat while we're on lunch break. It does happen less now.

I'm going to have a huge celebratory party when they finally make it illegal to drive while chatting on the cell phone. Its so annoying.

Yes, we agree with you: She was rude. Now what? It doesn't change anything, so there's no reason to stew over it. It's a shame when people are slaves to their cell phones. People have gotten bad about using cell phones in inappropriate places. When the Girl Scout troop I lead meets, the first rule is that everyone turns off their cell phone and turns in their cell phone to me. It's the only way we can have a meeting without being interrupted by text messages, phone calls, etc.

She was very rude. I would have told her to get off the phone or leave. Rude? Probably, but if you are out with ME to help me celebrate my birthday, you will make time for ME or you'll get the hell out of my face.

Some people can control the usage of their cell phones and other people can't. I don't like to be around people who can't, and I would have left. It's these types of people who make it bad for everyone else, because I don't think a cell phone ban is right for people who have control over their cell phone usage.

After about the 3rd time she got on her cell phone, I would have said: "If you have something you need to go take care of, I will understand if you need to leave." If she didn't stop after that, I would have cut the evening short.

that is annoying...frankly when im with my friends unless its urgent we dont answer phones...

but the people that are likely to txt us are usually standing right in front of us in the group

i would have told her something like
'well if it isent the kettle calling the pot black'
ok maybe something with a few 'F' words in it lol

Listen it isn't nice to be rude at all no matter what. Just because she was rude doesn't mean that you have the right to be rude back.
