They do.
They're wrong.
And yes, that is arrogance.

WE don't interpret the Bible; we have to let the Holy Spirit interpret it for us. In fact, 2 Peter 1:20 says, "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation." Then verse 21 says, "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost."
Since it was the Holy Spirit that gave the Scripture to those holy men, we should allow it to also help us interpret it. Unfortunately, so many churches build a doctrine out of a single verse taken out of context. You need to read everything that the Bible says about a particular subject, and put it all together, then the answer should be clear. This is when a good concordance comes in handy.

I do consider myself a fundamentalist as you say, the problem is it is not my concept of truth that I believe, The Bible is Truth, Gods word is truth, what part is debateable anyway? Jesus is Lord, Right? He who serves him must serve him in truth and righteousness right? I can see a debate. Jesus says in John 3:3, ye must be born again to see the Kingdom of God, anyone who study's the scriptures knows what born again means, Romans 10:9 and 13 are pretty good examples, believe, so is Ephesians 2:8-9, Jesus said take up your cross and follow me daily, Love your neighbor as yourself, those are self explanatory, so really there is no debate, Jesus is Lord, plain and simple, He is the way the truth and the Life, no man goes to the Father except thru him. God Bless!!!

It's no accident that your question contains four of the KEYWORDS of modern Christianity:
1. Bible
2. Fundamentalists
3. RIGHT
4. Truth
Christians are RIGHT. They usually vote consistent with RIGHT-wing fundamentalism. They all believe the bible is the inerrant truth of God Almighty and they support the right wing lunatic fringe of the republican party.
You hit the nail on the head.

All religious fundamentalists believe that "their" truth is the only truth.
That is arrogance and pigheadedness!

Do hardcore atheists really think, without a doubt, that they are right in their concept of 'truth'?
