My submission to God occurred when I first made the commitment to have Him be Lord of my life. Just like getting married, I made a vow to love Him. I know He will always uphold His end of the commitment, for we love Him because He loved us first. It is up to me to honour my pledge to love Him back, through faith and obedience. And with that mutual cooperation, my covenant with Him will never be broken by anything.

As usual, another great teaching question from you sister. You truly are a warrior for Christ.
I always saw it like this. He told us to build a house. He supplied all the tools and supplies and even the blue prints. All we have to do is the hand labor. He even supplies us with the food (manna) and water (refreshment through the word and other Christians) for us and extra strength when we grow weary. But some of us cry to Him and say, "I want the house but I don't want to do any work or go through anything hard to get it." Many people want the promises of God to come true in their lives but aren't willing to read, pray, gather together with believers, help people or preach the good news. Then when things dont' go right for them, they cry against the Lord. I've seen it time and time again. We make our own choices even as Christians and we either are blessed for those choices or disciplined for them. It's up to us. But like you said, God works in us always helping us to do our part and supplying us through His Holy Spirit all that we need to accomplish whatever He gives us to do here on earth. Thanks for that great question. God bless you Sandy!

He does not need anything from us. But, what He has chosen to have manifest in the few that are actually His, He supplies and causes the manifestation of His desire to come forth. Interestingly, His plan comes forth regardless to whether one is His child, or a Child of the Devil. "Cooperation" from us would simply be what He had manifest for us to begin with.
Look at this amazing passage and consider:
Pro 16:4 The LORD hath made all [things] for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
And this one:
1Pe 2:8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, [even to them] which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
Who "appointed" these to be "disobedient" and "stumble"?
He is the Potter, He does what He likes, and His desires will manifest based upon His plan.
He is not willing that any of the Elect of Israel should perish, and none will.
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Context, Context, Context. This passage is often misused it staggers the mind. In the first passage he basically tells you he is writing to the same people as in the first epistle, and that was the elect of the disperrsion of Israel.
This is who that manna is promised to.
To think WE do anything to gain His favor is idolatry. Worship of self, cloaked behind religion.

Our complete and utter TRUST in Him.
We should not be grumbling or whining about anything! We need to "Be still and know that HE is God" Psalm 46:10
To completely TRUST Him in all things....to seek His wisdom each day, for His direction- standing firm in our salvation in Him, knowing full well he is Lord of our lives. We should always put ourselves out of the way-- and rest in HIM. That means to daily take up our cross and follow Him.
2 Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Hi there-
With all due respect-
The LORD needs nothing, He is perfectly satisfied in and of Himself, and He requires nothing from His children that He Himself doesn't supply.
This verse you've presented is a very good example of what I'm saying- it is God who operates in you BOTH THE WILLING AND THE WORKING for His good pleasure. (caps for emphasis)
Blessings to you in Christ-
hope

Obedience, repentance, praise, service are my part to give in His glory...He helps and guides my obedience, He strengthen my repentance, He loves to bless me, and He helps me in my service to Him and the Kingdom...I give very little but He blesses it and turns it into alot...Thank you for your time Sandy...Blue316
