Both. People still have morals, and so they still know what is good and what is evil. They don't need religion to tell them that. Although those that follow a religion usually have more "evil" things.

Yeah, I'd have to agree. because religion can easily convince good people that it is a good thing to commit acts that are actually bad.

Just look at the 9/11 hijackers as an example. Their religion caused them to believe that they were doing good work by killing Americans.

Without religions, there wouldn't be such serious motivations for people to commit acts that have no reasonable purpose like that.

Without religion good people could still do evil things, they just couldn't justify it with some invisible person to blame it on.

No, without religion good and evil people would find a different reason to justify their actions.

Religion didn't create acts of good or evil.

Religion address how to respond to both.

Religion is a basis of comparison not the impetus

Just my thoughts

I think religion can also make evil people do good things out of fear of damnation. While it also can make good people judgmental and overbearing on topics like gay marriage, early abortion, etc.

So, agree somewhat.

disagree

people who do evil things are evil people, you can't have good people doing evil things, as they are by definition therefore evil people, no matter how they try to justify it

I kind of agree with it.

I think religion fuels a lot of nonsense that wouldnt be around if it didnt "exist".

But you dont need it to do nonsense either.
