I've kind of been searching for a good, solid religion I could really get into the past few years. I was raised in a Pentecostal church (which makes me very uncomfortable-- too many sad songs, tongues and praising Jesus)... About 3 years ago I decided to go through catechism, but was doing it for all the wrong reasons. I like the idea behind the Saints in the Catholic religion and how private and traditional it seems, but I wasn't born Catholic, so it would take a lot of effort to learn. I do believe in one God, but am also very interested and believe in astrology and tarot (I'm sure that makes me a horrible person)... I'm not real sure where I fit in on the grand scheme of things... I wouldn't mind learning about Paganism but my Mom would have MAJOR issues with that (she's still w/ Assembly of God) ... I want something nature oriented, star oriented, one God oriented, saint incorporating, private and traditional... help??

This happened to a someone here off my contacts list...

A poster here over a weekend a while back kept leaving cryptic messages on the boards, they would contain things such as "I'm stuck and I don't know where I am" and "Help me!" aditional details were only that it was dark where he was, and people kept demanding 'drinks!' from him.
Everybody thought he was making a lame joke but,
his posts became increasingly scary and intense...my friend emailed the guy and asked him if he was alright (not having a nervous break down or anything lol) he did not reply, this was on the Sunday.

On monday morning, my friend recieved an email from the guys boss, Eliot Watchaski, saying that their friend had died, and they were very sorry to inform them.

but here's the creepy part...

The coroner placed the time of death... on THAT PREVIOUS FRIDAY!
Aparently, he was always the first guy in, and the last to leave, and nobody had noticed his body all weekend.

I noticed guys that dont' play sports at camps or something autimatically are labeled as loosers. I've known some great guys who are good at so many things yet are facing this "looser" label in our society. Should they do sports then, or should they continue being "loosers"?

The pagan beliefs have been around much much longer than the catholic beliefs. Most pagans just want to live in peace, Love mother earth and cause no harm to anything. Why is there so much hate?

If you look at it, there's no such thing as a stupid person. Most people perceived to be dumb usually 1.)pretend to be (to trick others) or 2.)are actually misunderstood because of their thought process.

Of course I know that everyone wants their prayers to be answered- but what do you do in order to help your prayers to be answered?
For example: Do you give up something for a while?
or do you do a ritual for a while?

I seem to be finding that so many people on the Internet (and real life) are atheists. Most of the time, the initial reaction is, "Wow, I thought I was the only one! Who would have thought?"

I'm starting to suspect that there are many, many more atheists and agnostics out there than the polls and surveys convey. Hell, I'm only 16, and I know two other atheists from school who are my age!

So is it safe to say that there are more closet atheists in society than we know? Just from the demographics of R&S, I'm starting think that may be so.

well today i was playin around in my halloween costume and i tore it so now my mom says since you ripped it if you want to go trick or treating you have to wear your sisters ballerina outfit and i want to go trick or treating but im a litle embarrassed about wearing a tutu my sis says shell have a field day dressing me up in her pink tutu with bows and ribbons in my hair and makeup on and tights and ballet slippers whats this gonna be like?

I think Noah's Ark is pretty bad. All those animals spread out on the continents and Madagascar too, all safe and sound on this gigantic vessle. Then after the flood, the animals and creatures were returned to their homes.
A lesson is meant to be learned here, but to believe in this literally .......

I tired it out. I totally surrender every bit of my heart to him and in the midst of my life change im dealing with on going health issues....well the thing is. I prayed on hands and knees for the pain to go and it didnt.. i asked for help and he moved so slowly .....and i mean i tired for a good two weeks. Im sorry but no one seems to understand my situation. i attempted chruch and everyone just stands and talks to their friends or ppl they know ... no one came up to me. I was meeting with someone fromthe church too and i wanted him to put the word out that i needed some friends from church. and that i was trying to make a life change. I contacted my family which i haven't seen in 10 years because i was living as a openly GAY male. They came to see me, i told them of my decision to walk with god. well at first they seemed willing to help me out but then later they started to pull out. I needed them to help me out of my situation along with my so called friend from chruch
