Of course I know that everyone wants their prayers to be answered- but what do you do in order to help your prayers to be answered?
For example: Do you give up something for a while?
or do you do a ritual for a while?
Thanks!

There are no rituals or things to give up for a while that will somehow make God have to answer your prayers. He is not a genie. He will answer your prayers in His way and time. The only things I can suggest are to make sure you are living according to His will, asking for things that are not against His will and putting your trust in Him to answer you. Praying constantly is another thing Jesus taught--don't give up praying for the things you need.

Neither. I do not have to do anything special. I am the daughter of the Most High God. He delights in my prayers. He listens and answers me. Sometimes He tells me no! That is only because it is not in my best interest. But He always listens and answers. He is the Father who numbers the hairs on my head and is near me when I am brokenhearted. He has determined when I would be born. The Lord provides for all my needs and some of my wants too! He is a good and loving Father who is always there. The Bible says to go boldly before the throne with your petitions.Go with a sincere heart. Confess your sins and ask Christ into your heart.God loves a pure and humble spirit. Do not be hesitant to ask the Lord for what you need . Have faith He will hear you, He really does answer prayer!

for me, the only thing i would do for my prayers to be answered is to be myself. I mean to talk to God about what and how I feel inside. I think rituals or any mortifications would not have much weight if i am not reconciled with myself...Thus for me, I will not DO something for my prayers to be answered but rather I would just BE myself, because I believe God Knows my heart. He is after my being not on my doing...He looks at my heart not on my works, for the goodness or the badness of my work depends on what i have inside. So Brother, to have your prayer answered, Be Yourself, and Be patient, Remember there are only three words that God would answer your prayer, YES, if you really need it, NO, if you have a hidden ill- intention for praying, MAYBE, in HIs own time...Have a good day brother....

I know many people who fast or go without to ensure their prayers are heard, but my belief has always been if it is to be done it will be. I think fasting in some ways takes away from the faith in the diety to which you are requesting. It's like saying, I really want something so I'll do this to get it. Because you do something doesn't change what is to be, it and you can't persuade God when his mind's already been made. If you deserve it you'll get it. If you don't then fasting for the rest of your life or going without chocolate isn't going to change it.

In all things, I say, "if it be your will, let it be done"...and then I trust, that by faith, the outcome will be God's will. It may not be the answer I want...but, I know that in the long run, it will be for the best.

So anyway, no, I do not need to perform any ritual to make sure the prayer is answered...it always is...because I have faith that God is in control.

The Bible says to be persistent in your prayers, so you should just keep praying, even if it's about the same thing. You have to make sure that you are working in harmony with your prayers and if it's God's will, he'll answer them.

you must have faith that He will answer your prayers- however what I just said , I must clarify- God answers prayers His way, not ours- so He may have already answered your prayer, by no, yes or wait. No and Wait are answers as well. I prayed for years for God to heal me of pain disease- Yes, I have faith enough to believe that He could- however He has taught me to have faith in Him, even when He doesn't answer the prayer exactly as I pray it.

Anybody can pray
Ask as if it is here now. (Words of prayer)
Ask with your true heart.
Don't beg as though you are not worthy.
Live as if it is true
Do not allow yourself to slip into thought of it is not here, right now.

What you have to give up, is thinking it isn't true.
If your heart feels, to have a special place, a special moment, something to mark this moment, than have that.
If you are coming from the heart, are true in your prayer, know who you are praying to, know who you are, then it is a moment of true reverence.

In our Church this last Sunday the sermon was about being humble, yet genuine and sincere. I find that if my prayers don't seem to be answered it is because it wasn't part of what God had planned for me. It wasn't that he didn't listen, he just didn't do what I wanted, or what I thought I wanted.
