This can also depend on where you live. Some towns have specific trick-or-treating hours (like where I live), which is 6-8. Some towns don't even recognize Halloween as a day at all, just a general time frame. It depends where you are. I would say 6-8 is pretty common, though.

Whenever the sun goes down. Usually 6:00 you will see the little ones coming out. 6:30 is usually when the big crowd comes and doesn't leave until 9:00

7:30-10:00 for 9-12 year olds
7:00-7:50 for ages 4-6 year olds
7:30- 9:00 for 7-8 year olds.

It use to be around 6 when it got dark but this is the first year the time change was delayed a week. It'll be a bit later than usual.

I would say around 5:30 or 6. Stay near your front door so you don't have to keep traveling back and forth.
