The pagan beliefs have been around much much longer than the catholic beliefs. Most pagans just want to live in peace, Love mother earth and cause no harm to anything. Why is there so much hate?

Because most of their rituals were borne of pagan culture.

EDIT:

promethius9594...

The Roman Catholic Church was formed by the emperor Constantine in or around 325 AD. He sprinkled Christianity and paganism together, and you have what you have now. To believe that the Roman Catholic church started 33 AD or is dated to King David days is completely and totally wrong because the Roman Empire outlawed religion until the 4th century.

Actually, I've found the catholics to be much more understanding of pagans than any of the protestants. When most catholics hear that a person is pagan, their reaction is "well I don't agree but its your choice" and then they change the subject. And I know a heck of a lot of catholics considering that my whole family is catholic but me.

Its the protestants that hate the pagan religions and its the protestants who make an idiotic point of coming into pagan threads to tell them that they "need to find god, repent, read the bible" and other crap.

What hate are you talking about? I suggest you come into the 21st or even the 20th century.

The Catholic Church seeks and supports the freedom of religion for all human beings.

In the Vatican II document, Declaration on Religious Freedom, Dignitatis Humanae (Human Dignity), the Church states:

The human person has a right to religious freedom. This freedom means that all men are to be immune from coercion on the part of individuals or of social groups and of any human power, in such wise that no one is to be forced to act in a manner contrary to his own beliefs, whether privately or publicly, whether alone or in association with others, within due limits.

For the entire document, see: http://www.vatican.va/archive/hist_councils/ii_vatican_council/documents/vat-ii_decl_19651207_dignitatis-humanae_en.html

In addition, the Catholic Church teaches about non-Christian religions:

All nations form but one community. This is so because all stem from the one stock which God created to people the entire earth, and also because all share a common destiny, namely God. His providence, evident goodness, and saving designs extend to all against the day when the elect are gathered together in the holy city.

For more information, see:
+ Nostra Aetate, the Declaration on the Relation of the church to Non-Christian Religions: http://www.vatican.va/archive/hist_councils/ii_vatican_council/documents/vat-ii_decl_19651028_nostra-aetate_en.html
+ The Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections 839 and following: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1sect2chpt3art9p3.htm#839

With love in Christ.

.Let me try to ans this . Its not just Catholics that are concerned its all good Christians that's what it should be. If they hate that's wrong , They may hate the actions of some one doing wrong but we all should never really hate the person . Now the reason I'm concerned is because in reality we are in a spiritual war and God has even told us that much as time goes on this war is going to change and get worse .We are now getting more and more cults and so called religions like Scientology etc and even off shoots of the Christian and Catholic side.We now even have the Islamics starting all over again .So a true Christian wants to see people saved or lead to the Lord , sometimes they go over board . God Said give the battle to Me (Him )and let Me handle it . But instead they get all upset and go off on some one causing more harm then good .Then others take it as hate when it should have shown concern

The Catholic Church doesn't hate pagans, and I'm startled you'd think so. They love them so much they strive to share the gift of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. Is that wrong to do?

I'm not sure about the connection, but Pagans certainly aren't the only humans who "love mother earth". Catholics are taught that respect for nature is required of all Christians because nature is a gift from God for our benefit.

Excuse me, how can you say Catholic hates pagans som much? Are you serious? I think the church now, as i have known it, had never hated pagans in its 2000 years of existence....And excuse me, there is no such thing as pagan beliefs, there is Pagan Practices, since paganism is believing in nothing. Do you mean to say those who do not believe in the CAtholic Church? Would you be kind enough to qualify your question?

Catholics don't HATE pagans at all, though we disagree with their beliefs. Second, the Catholics have been around since pre-King David days, so I doubt any modern paganism really outdates Catholicism. (remember, the Catholic church is the new covenant of the Chosen people of God, not simply a church started on 33 AD

I don't understand why anyone would hate Pagans. Out of all the religions, theirs is the most peaceful and beautiful besides Buddhism. I think it has to do with a lot of misconceptions that people may have about what Paganism entails. The first thing most people think of is sacrifice rituals, casting evil spells, and worshipping Satan which is laughable if you really know that it's about respect and cherishing nature, the seasons, and everything that Mother Earth gave us.

In-group, out-group bias.
Control.
Money, power, you name it.
Why do Mets fans hate Yankess fans so much?
I'm over here, you're over there.
And truly, the Church has demonized so many things. Paganism is full of things that have been demonized.
Why?
So the Church could spread influence and power throughout the Dark and Middle Ages.
Gods and goddesses were tolerated for awhile, until they were convertedinto saints (for example, Brigid of Ireland was made a saint. Many moon and earth goddesses were replaced by Mother Mary.)
