all guys say they're looking for a "real" girl. well what does that consist of?

Thats a subjective statement. What makes a perfect mate would be different for all people.
Some guys like having a superficial high-maintenance girl friend. They think of a women as a status symbol. If I can handle her and give her everything she wants- then I must be a success.
Other guys want someone thats not high-maintenance. Maybe thats what your friend means by "real". Your friend might think that a lot of girls want guys for their money, status... but its more likely that your friend is looking for a girl that meets all his physical requirements (fantasies) and those girls just happen to be the high maintenance ones. Real girls often come in not so perfect packages and when it comes down to it- thats not the fantasy.
Most men prefer looks to personality and prefer hot bodies to cute, nice, average, real girls.

It means nothing other than: "I am looking for the girl that best suits my personality whether I need a complimenting or contrasting partner"
Everyone says where are all the REAL men/women and it means something different to everyone.
A REAL woman could be a traditionally thought of stay at home and cook woman or it could be an independent, sports loving woman.

A girl who is confident with herself, doesn't feel the need to play head games, has self-respect and knows who she is in life.
I think alot of people confuse "real" for perfect. And as we all know that just doesn't exist. Everyone has faults but it's the good qualities that can make a person stand out from the others.

The opposite of a 'real guy' I guess..
unless he talking about mannekins or blow-up dolls, then I guess the only nessesary criteria is that she's organic and breathing..I think.....
..altho I've met some guys who don't even require that.....

Considering I am a girl, its kindof hard to say, but think about it. A girl who is themselves in front of anybody. dosen't change personalities everytime their crush walks in the door. At least thats what I think it means hope I helped!!! -cookiedough-

A girl that takes care of her appearance, but isn't into herself. Doesn't have to get all the attention. Doesn't cuss all the time and is mature.

one that isn't self centered or doesn't try to be all cosmo and sh*t.you know a down to earth girl. "real" as in no fake parts,nails,hair or fake personalities.a girl such as myself.a girl who loves football!
