Because if you think about it, some people may give u things that look like lollies but are actually drugs.

I have often wondered about that. All year we teach our kids..Don't take candy from a stranger... then on Halloween what do we do... we send our kids door to door at night to houses of strangers getting candy from them. Also people are in a disguise, you don't know what they look like, so if they do something you can not describe them.

It can be which is why you should follow these rules:

-Only go to houses in your neighbourhood that you know are safe and that you trust. If you are skeptical about a certain house, just don't go there! If the light in the house is off, don't go to the door.

-Children should not eat candy while trick or treating or before a parent has checked his or her loot. A drug lollipop will look slightly different than a normal one. All candy that you may be unsure of should be thrown out just in case.

XOXO,
Laurie

Yes, it can be. It is very important NOT to eat anything that looks tampered with, or appears open, because people may have done something to the candy.

Also, it is always important that trick or treaters have at least one adult with them at ALL times.

In my hometown, they are actually requiring that no registered sex offender can put his light on tonight, so trick or treaters don't accidentally show up to their home. Not that anything would happen, but I guess the town is just taking extra precautions.

Okay people, pedophiles and cars are the biggest worries on Halloween. All that crap about kids getting poisoned is just that-crap. In the eighties a child was poisoned by candy, this was done ONCE to ONE child-and it was done to that child by a relative. The media gets a hold of things and makes it seem way worse than it really is. (More people get bit every year by people than get bit by pit bulls but you wouldn't know that by watching the news).

Paedophiles or Perverts. It will be a dream come true for them when a little kid comes unsupervised up to their door and are very impressionable.

All they have to say is come inside for a minute whilst I go and get the lollies. Just make sure your kid is 16+ or with a 16 year old. I would not let anyone under that age go up by themselves unless they know how to protect themselves.

I think anything you or a child does can be dangerous. You have to put in perspective. Go with your children and check their loot. ENJOY, don't get paranoid.

Yes. They can. They also can give you poison.

You can also get hit by a car and someone could attack you while you're walking in the dark.

Be careful.
