And if you did something really 'bbbbaaaadddd' did you get the belt harder and longer?
If so are you still fond of belts?

Or if talking never worked, did you use the belt then?

I think I still have stripes on my butt where my Dad used his belt or a switch or a paddle or whatever he had that would hurt worse. And nothing, no one thing hurts worse than a razor strap, believe me!!!

Oh yeah, I forgot about the metal hangars, those hurt almost as bad as the razor strap, but the pain didn't last as long.

My dad never did any of the disciplines, a dirty look was enough. My mom spanked me once when a punk kid friend and I went to the airport and pulled the compass off a Cessna and the Cessna owner came to tell my parents. Only time and I will never forget it. The pain wasn't from the spanking, it was from the anger. I hate compasses today. When I hunt I don't venture too far back into the woods because I’m compassless.
I just read some very disturbing stories here. A good lesson for today's parents that overdone spanks with objects go to the heart and the scar there lasts for years and years too.

The belt but I'm more fond of the hanger or the switch which I had to pick off the tree myself. If it broke I got to pick another one. I only buy padded hangers today and I stay out of trees but I must admit I still like a good belt depending upon how it's administered. Oh I forgot the wooden yardstick which was 1/2 inch thick. That's when they needed extra reach.

Wally, I think your father and mine must have been in the same line when they handed out the sadistic gene. Except my father refined the strop and paddle by drilling 1/2 inch holes all over them. The hole not only prevented the air from slowing the "stroke" down, but when your skin was contacted by the paddle or strop, the parts that were allowed to "rise through" the holes made for extra bruising, because the skin was stretched that much farther. Extra bruising caused extra pain of course.

Never got the belt, my mum hated that , however she did use the wooden spoon on me and once the fly swatter. However the best story she used to tell was when I was about 4. We stayed at my aunt and uncle's in Illinois and I must have done something to tick her off because I got spanked and sent to bed without supper.
My aunt and uncle were having a cocktail party with their friends and they had a landing where you could looking down into the living room.
Apparently I marched down in my baby doll pjs, stalked up to my mum and said I hope your happy you cracked it and mooned her.
Then I stalked upstairs. My mum said she didn't dare go after me because all the doctors and lawyers and their wives etc cracked up. My uncle said oh now Bun,kitten doesn't do anything THAT bad to warrent you cracking her rear end.
When she finally came up to bed, she woke me up and said if I ever pulled another stunt like that she'd make sure I didn't sit down for a week.

This was the routine:
Me at 11: "Mom you are a lucky dog!"
Dad taking off belt: "Don't you ever call your mudder a bi*ch again!"
Me across his lap with my panties down, belt swatting butt and mom screaming for him to quit: "Waa Waaaaaa"
Dad" "Quit crying or I'll give you sometime to cry about!"
Me trying not to cry and dad still spanking me with his black belt: "Sniff sniff"
Mom: Still yelling.
Butt: Red belt marks
Dad: All frustrations from his work day are better now, until the next day...
Black belts don't bother me, but for the life of me, I can't understand why some kinky people get off on belt whippings.
This wasn't a funny question, but I know it was from your heart! LOL

Yes - my dad was a barber when we were babies.
When we got old enough to disobey and be disrespectful - he would just threaten us with his leather barber strap. I'll tell you what, we shaped up in a hurry. It didn't happen often, but I would get it just once across my backside.
I vowed I would never threaten or hit my kids - I would always use my words with them. On rare occasion I would spank them. I really like logical consequences as the best form of discipline.

I was a rotten, precocious brat who was always in trouble...always pushing the envelope to see just how far I could go..daily! My punishment, if it came to that was my mom telling me to go to the yard and bring her a switch from the Pussywillow bush. You would think I would learn, but ..the cutting of that switch was a far worse punishment than getting it across my calves...she never hit hard, but damn! I would be jumping up and down, crying, the whole time I was getting the switch...a few times, I acted so bad when getting the switch, she doubled over laughing and I escaped further punishment. IF Dad had a hand in it, it was his hand flat across my butt..womp! and that was it..Dad never hurt us, but made a big to-do about it...more for effect than punishment. NO, none of us were scarred in life, when it came switch time, trust me, we had pushed it far beyond all reasonable limits. Love and peace, Goldwing

Same as Oh Yeah.... in our house it was mom with the wooden spoon. I knew I was in trouble if she grabbed the really long one. Didn't happen very often though... only maybe 8-10 times. No scars, and I don't think it damaged me. I don't think corporal punishment is necessary to discipline kids, but I feel that too many parents are dropping that and not replacing it with anything at all.

Mom made us cut our own switches and it had better be a good one or she would get a one a lot worse. Dad used a belt, the hand or whatever he could get his hands on.

Yes I did, and the switch. My parents scolded me and grounded me, but a swat on the bottom I did get that I am thankful for it and believe that a lot of kids need a strap on thier butts today.
