A true atheist (at least from the thousands I've seen on this site) revels in the misery of their counterparts, and enjoys mocking their supposed narrow-minded delusions. Sure they want them to think like they do, but only after realizing how stupid they once were.

A true Christian prays for their counterpart, and would like nothing more than to welcome him or her into the fellowship. Even the truest of Christians will lose their temper and say something harsh, but how long can patience last when the mocker is continually sabotaging the party, even though he has an invitation?

Matt.27:46,50: "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, eli, lama sabachthani?" that is to say, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" ...Jesus, when he cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost."

Luke23:46: "And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, "Father, unto thy hands I commend my spirit:" and having said thus, he gave up the ghost."

John19:30: "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, "It is finished:" and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

there was a set of identical twins boys born. since they began to play with toys one boy liked trucks and cars and robots etc, when the other boy just wanted to play with dolls... as they got older one boy had his room decorated like the typical boy but the other desperately wanted bright colours, more associated with girls, and pink fur and princesses. this is not the only story of such behaviors. a small kid doesnt understand the implications. this is how they were born. parents have a hard time excepting it, and so is society...
open minded opinions please
close ones welcomed too...

How will you feel about god doing this to us? Its because we don't believe, but people of other religions are usually raised in their religion, and atheists simply have had no reason to believe. And for that we are sent to an eternity of torment?

ok, so give me your opinions, thought or beliefs on this situation.

i understand being a homsexual is a sin in christian faith. So take this example. What if a blind lady and a homosexual person went to the same church for years and years, both had strong faith and wanted to be healed. The blind person wanted to be healed of blindness and be given the ability to see. The homosexual wanted to be healed of being attracted to the same sex and to be straight. Everyweek and every church meeting they get prayed for to be healed.
they continue to do so for the rest of their lives. the blind person was never able to see and the homsexual was never "healed" either.
It was up to god to heal them. and he chose not to. does that mean the church still discriminates against the homosexual when all his life he wanted to be healed.
If god chose not to give the blind person sight, does that mean he can also chose not to heal the homosexual?

what are your thoughts. thanks. -agnostic.

So I used to be very fundamentalist Christian. I was very active in the Church and youth group. I know what is like to FEEL and KNOW God. But about two years ago I stopped being fundamentalist and became Inclusive Monotheistic. Obviously I believe in God, but I don't believe there is only one path or way to God. I don't believe one religion is right while another is wrong.

Because I have FELT and KNOWN God in the past, I still feel and know God now in my new religious convictions and experiences. Yet if I bring this up on R&S, I get more thumbs down than a red headed step child. Why is that? If I have peace with God, feel God, know God, how can you say I'm wrong? Just because I don't believe every word in the bible (and have done enough historical research to question the bible with abosolute validity) how can you say I'm wrong?

I know what its like to have a relationship with God, and just because I'm no longer Christian doesn't mean that relationship has gone away.

I went to this Halloween-type thing called "Judgment House" at a nearby Church with a few friends. In a nutshell, you go into several rooms and in each room it has a different scene showing someone's death and judgment

One of the rooms was Hell. It showed characters being tortured and burning right in front of us, screaming in pain the entire time.

At the end, an "Average Joe" Christian spoke. His exact words were, "What you have seen tonight is a portrayal of people and how their decisions affected their afterlife. It doesn't matter how good of a life you lived. If you do not accept Jesus, you are going to Hell."

Actually SEEING "Hell" seriously scarred me for life...I had always known what "Hell" was and what Christians believed, but now the images of torture are forever burned into my eyes. They kept preaching, "God loves the world so much He gave us His Son to save us." Yeah, He loves us SO much and SO unconditionally that He'll let every non-Christian suffer for eternity?

I am confused on the different points that people have on either topic and would like some different points of view from people to state their case for their belief. Please no answers that say" because the bible says so" or " anything about dinosaurs". I would like specific answers that are short and to the point. I do not have an opinion either way, but would like to learn some more about this topic to help me make a decision. Thanks
