...when we can clearly see other animals, particularly primates, participate in homosexual behavior. Since animals cannot commit sin, then is homosexuality a sin, or is it not?

And if god created animals to be without sin, then why do some practice behavior that is universally known to be wrong, according to god? Obviously they weren't made for it, and neither were humans.

Morganie: please see my second paragraph. If animals (like the praying Mantis) kill other animals, that is also a sin. So what you're saying is that animals are allowed to do all of these things that humans are not? How clever of god.

A homosexual couple of any species cannot have biological offspring and thus are illogical in nature. Besides, you've never considered that humanity's sin isn't affecting the world around us?

I'm not Christian so this Christian idea of sin isnt really applicable in my life, but of course I have Christian friends. Using one of my friend's arguements... Animals participate in homosexual behavior because all animals started out perfect as God made them (heterosexual). Sin entered into the picture thus causing the degregation of animals (including homosexuality).
But alas that is not my opinion. My religion doesnt really care who you have sex with and nor do I. Yay for gays, yay for straights and yay for everyone inbetween. lol

God created animals for man. God created the Old Testament Law for man. The law was not for animals just like the animals didn't exist for themselves. God gave man both because He loves man. "Don't kill, Don't steal, Don't have sex outside of marriage." God knew the effect it would have on marriages. He knew the effect it would have on children. He knew that Adam's sin had brought disease and death into the world. He knew about STDs in the future. He also didn't design penises to go in buttholes. That is why buttholes don't produce lubricant. That is why he gave common sense to know that excrement is gross, and the intelligence to learn it festers bacteria. God was looking out for us because he knew that our sinful depraved nature, resulting from Adam's sin would mess us up.

What's that I hear? Is that logic?
Oh, never mind I was just hearing things.

Allow me to apologize. That was rude and unkind. But I think you could make a better and more coherent argument in regards to homosexuality and sin. I knew what you MEANT but you honestly did not communicate it.

Because we have the power to control our impulses and animals do not. It is not a sin to be a homosexual (attracted to same sex). It is only a sin to let your thoughts focus on it, and to act upon those inclinations.

The practice of homosexuality is destructive to the human soul. God makes it clear that homosexuality is a sin (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26–27; 1 Corinthians 6:9; Jude 1:7; 1 Timothy 1:10; Revelation 21:8). Supporting gay marriage is a sin because it means to support homosexuality and the perversion of Holy Matrimony. If a nation legalizes gay marriage, that nation will be cursed.
Homosexuality is caused by iniquity. Iniquities (tendencies that cause one to sin) pass down the generation line (Numbers 14:18). When one accepts Lord Jesus as their Saviour, God forgives their sins and removes their iniquities (evil tendencies) in the subsequent transformation process which makes one more and more like Christ.
2 Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Hebrews 9:12-14
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
After genuinely accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour, ALL sinners (those who practice homosexuality, alcoholics, liars, drug addicts, fornicators etc.) will be saved and transformed. Each believer is cleansed by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and receives the infilling of the Holy Spirit who renews them.
REDEMPTION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH
Because mankind is incapable of meeting God’s standard of perfection necessary to abide in God’s presence (Romans 3:19-20,23), God sent His Son Jesus Christ to pay the total debt for the believer’s sins and mercifully credits to his account Christ’s righteousness (Romans 3:21-28,5:1-11; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21). Jesus’ gracious act of atonement was complete and covers all sin (Colossians 2:13-14; 1 John 1:9). Salvation is not based on good deeds but according to the mercy of God (Titus 3:4-5). Believers are justified by faith; it is a gift by God’s grace (Romans 4:3-8; Ephesians 2:8-9). A true, living faith will result in a desire to live a holy, loving life of good works (Ephesians 2:10; Galatians 5:6; James 2:14-26), but failure to be absolutely successful at righteous living does not negate the believer’s justified status.
If you sincerely say this prayer, your sins will be washed away, you will be redeemed to God, be saved from eternal torment and inherit the Kingdom of God:
"Dear Jesus,
I am a sinner.
I repent of my sins.
Please forgive me and save me by your shed blood;
come into my heart.
I want to receive you as my own personal Lord and Savior.
Amen"
