The get together is tomorrow and I haven't heard from her. I already told my boyfriend about it and she does know him and does know that we are still together, so should I bring him?

1-22 "Remember, God, all we've been through. Study our plight, the black mark we've made in history.
Our precious land has been given to outsiders,
our homes to strangers.
Orphans we are, not a father in sight,
and our mothers no better than widows.
We have to pay to drink our own water.
Even our firewood comes at a price.
We're nothing but slaves, bullied and bowed,
worn out and without any rest.
We sold ourselves to Assyria and Egypt
just to get something to eat.
Our parents sinned and are no more,
and now we're paying for the wrongs they did.
Slaves rule over us;
there's no escape from their grip.
We risk our lives to gather food
in the bandit-infested desert.
Our skin has turned black as an oven,
dried out like old leather from the famine.
Our wives were raped in the streets in Zion,
and our virgins in the cities of Judah.
They hanged our princes by their hands,
dishonored our elders.

In luke 16:19-25. In my studys of this i found a very interesting phrase (there was). Any time in the bible when Jesus said there was he was telling a true story about someone, because if it was not true then he could't say there was or he'd be liying. It's not a parable because in parables he never quoted names, he used points are things to illistrate a point. I'ts funny how just a few words can unlocke things in the bible. What do you think about this it decribes hell. Please dont say how can God send any one to hell, thats not he's will it's a choice we make.

Kind of the same as the other question, but more encompassing. Atheists, agnostics, Buddhists, Muslim, etc. How many of you have not read the bible?

In my observations most atheists and agnostics have read it, but I am also curious about followers of other religions.

And Yes, I have read it. A few different versions. And I am an atheist.

Christians believe that our minds are inherently flawed. After the Fall, our conclusions became untrustworthy. But God cannot communicate with us without the message being interpreted by our flawed minds.

So how can we ever be certain of God's word to us?

Do we necessarily have to rely on our admittedly flawed understanding?

"Lean not unto thine own understanding"

My workmates are always commenting on my clothing saying that it's boring. I wear black suits(have about 25 of them) with a plain white shirt(40 or so), black shoes and black socks. I DO have a lot of different ties though. The way I see it, it's work. As long as what I wear is clean pressed, and within the dress code, it should be OK. Work is hard enough without having to worry about what you're going to wear. Is it really important that you put so much thought into what you wear at work?

Now I know I'm going to get people calling me stupid that they are the same thing. They aren't. PC's goal is to create a society where race/religion/sex are not seen. In essence we ignore them because we can't say anything about them without stirring things up. Diversity is the acceptance of other for what they have to bring to the table. The acceptance that others are different and they can add value to the group for that reason. As you can probably tell I have a problem with PC. Great idea but it has been taken WAY to far. You now have to worry about what you as and how you say it. Under diversity as long as what we are saying isn't blatantly offensive it is accepted and added to the whole.

In Lamentations, Jeremiah is lamenting feeling great sorrow 4 his beloved people who behaved like we do when we kids. God told them lovingly: B sure not 2 do this & that, & then they did it & God said " if you don't stop at a red light per se, you will be paralzyed for life perhaps". Can U see that God is so loving & tries so hard 2 get us 2 listen 2 HIs infinite wisdom & we do it our way, eventually we run the red light & then we lament like Jeremiah does in Lamentations in the Bible, & then God loves on us even tho we didn't listen to him
One verse we read like it happened 2000 years ago, but it is happening especially in 3rd world countries now is Jer. 2 mes version: My eyes R blind w- tears, my stomach in a knot.
My insides have turned 2 jelly over my people's fate.
Babies & children R fainting all over the place,
Calling 2 their mothers, "I'm hungry! I'm thirsty!"
then fainting like dying soldiers in the streets,
breathing their last in their mothers' laps

let say you won the lotto for 26 million and you wanted to give away some money because now you feel kind of guilty. And you see that eventhough you was spending money and wasting it you still got alot of money. I buy stuff that i don't even need or it goes out of style and they come with a new model. I am tired of it and then my greedy cousins want me to always sponsor them with some crazy idea. if you just really wanted to see someone really happy with some money what would you do?

In other words, that a part of us already lives in heaven simulaneously while we, as physical beings, live on earth. Is it possible that, because the relativity of time is in part due to our perception of it, that this coexistance might exist?

Other serious thoughts pertaining to this theory/idea?

He was born on September 12th full term, 7 ½ pounds and healthy. :-)

After running like mad to get the supplies needed yesterday afternoon around 4 they called and delayed dropping him off until today. The hospital wanted to keep him for one more night for observations. Argh.

So, now I wait…and wait…and wait. They could bring him any time today, and they don’t know when. Natch.

So…. how about a name game?

As much as I really do like Sparkles Returns, it is a bit of a mouth full, especially for a boy. Sorry Sparkles. :-)

I’m leaning toward:

Sebastian Xavier
Or
Sebastian Alexander
Or
Ryan Alexander
Or…

This is easier with a dog! Puppies get cute names and that’s ok…hmmmmm….

How about Max? I like Max…

Thoughts?

I like to be true to myself, but sometimes I tend to accommodate the person I'm with, friend or stranger, by slightly changing my personality to make one feel more comfortable, or at ease.
I like to be myself, but for example, if I'm with business associates I have a 'business' personality, and if I'm with friends I'm myself (funny / a little weird / quirky), and when I'm with family, I'm just the same except a little bit more crazy. I tend to read the person I'm with, then change up a little to adapt to the person.

The closest thing I could find to explain myself is how Dave Chapelle explains it, except he relates it to pressure.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ksgLM_kDAc4

I relate to this clip on so many levels..
Is it just me, or do other people do this? I want to be myself ALL the time, but I'll probably loose my job, repel the opposite sex and be a social nut case.

Its a shame...because i have this funny feeling I'll be more successful professionally and socially if I was just me.
